Others have made mention of it, but you DO need a Y2!!!! 2 stage thermostat with Y1 and Y2 connected. Y1 is the economizer out, if conditions allow, OR mechanical cooling stage 1. Y2 is first stage mechanical if Y1 does not satisfy AND economizer conditions allow economizer cooling. Y2 becomes nothing when conditions do not allow economizer operation. Y1 is now mechanical cooling only.
We serve Petco stores, and the grooming room it is always an issue white humidity, and in your case if the previous contractor screwed the economizer it will make it worse, thank you for sharing man, great job!
Good video bk. Rheem has been using that economizer control in their new rooftop units for about 2 years now and must be their replacement now for the older economies. Those units looked to be about 15 years old.
So great, I watched it again in its entirety without realizing I'd seen it before...When I was in junior high, i started formulating my theories on how the school's hvac worked...I'd smell fries close to lunch time, in our upstairs history room some mornings, the windows always had air rushing out and never in, you could feel the humidity on the really warm/humid days, etc etc...all this info and other observations in highschool, let me figure this stuff out...when i got to college (didnt finish, not in the field), the instructor had just finished explaining the basics of introducing/mixing etc., fresh air into the hvac...I realized, i'd figured the theories out a few years prior whilst day dreaming and observing...I should have stuck with this.
Very good Video Information BKHVAC. Can the Mixed Air temp sensor be mounted on the RA filter compartment. I was told by (Honeywell) the correct location of the Mixed Air sensor is in the Return before the evaporator coil. In your video the correct location should be where the RA filters are located? Am i wrong? A lot of Carrier units that have these economizers installed in the factory have the mixed air sensor mounted in the blower housing in the supply side. I called Honeywell and they said Carrier has been mounting those MAT sensors incorrectly.
+Jose Alfaro to be honest.....im not really sure.....in the install instructions it showed it in ductwork....and the old mixed air showed it after the evap....so thats why i mounted it where i did....but im going to look into this....more and we can compare more notes....thanks for the info.... I appreciate it!
Hey bud if I wanted to keep my damper open day 20 percent.. what would I set that controller to ... the front doors to panda want slam when almost fully closed ... and when I had damper open about 20 percent without my power hooked to economizer the doors were smooth .. ..
Yep...15% all the time....but if there are freezing conditions...it is set to close. Its for an animal hospital...and im afraid that if there were a hicup and thr heat did not come on and the fan did...it would freeze the place and animals....
Hey good video bro appreciate it.Im currently working on a jade controlled economizer same model number.I installed two of them,I'm having an issue with one of them in the status menu it shows the economizer availibilty is yes and the other says no.I installed both of them the same way and not sure why one is saying not available,is this normal?.any info on what you think would help,I'm dead in the water until I can get tech support on the phone Monday thanks in advance
Don't forget you do need a 2 stage tstat 1st stage economize 2nd stage mechanical cooling if outdoor temp is below 60 degree or lower

Great job and great video.
Thank you so much!
The last 10 carrier Rooftop I did came with same controller for economizer with a new Belimo valve
Good work
hvachookup thanks!!!
I put the mix air tempature at 55 for the freecooling
hvachookup where are you? why 55°?
great video!
Thanks JJ!
Great video! How can u work with gloves? I have tried and can't work with gloves. I can't grab anything and it gets frustrating after a while.
Where the videos been at lol
It looks very simple control, I have seen distech control have way more advance capabilities to even eliminated manufacturer control.

BKHVAC were you able to find the right location where to mount this before or after the filters ?
Good point !
Very nice . I am working one that kind and need help.
awsome video i only learn from you. are you familyar with the freeze alarm on the jade economizer
yoni raul yes i am.... thanks for watxhing
Would you be able to explain it? My outdoor temp is around 5 degrees if that has something to do with it. Im not familyar with economizers tbh
What do you do with the yellow #5 on the old module?
Great video!
Upon walk up to any unit what determines the amount of needed damper position, how minimum position is acquired I am new to it.
sweet

With the ability for something like 3-4 volts should be about where you want to keep it for min.open
cool vid. One question, no fresh air in the winter ?
joeyf504327 its is set for fresh air all the time...
oh ok. So you have it set to 15% minimum full time ? and just no more if its below 32* ? Just curious how these are set up
Yep...15% all the time....but if there are freezing conditions...it is set to close. Its for an animal hospital...and im afraid that if there were a hicup and thr heat did not come on and the fan did...it would freeze the place and animals....
