    The best line-up of King’s Singers. Ever.

    I think the guys have their eyes shut so they don't giggle at each others facial expressions... I love the Kings Singers and this is right up there with my favorites.. The way they harmonize and 'feel' the music is fantastic.. Oh and I love they fact that 'someone' moved the cymbals.. Steven you are amazing as are you all chaps... ;0)x

    I could not disagree more. I've heard all the King's Singers albums over the years, and there is one absolutely certainty....never in their history has their blend been better than the line-up seen above. Ever.

    This is truly marvellous. Correct me if I am wrong but the German group Comedian Harmonists was the original performers in the early 1930's of the music piece as a instrumental emulating performace by a choir, but with the only instrumental support by a piano.

    Wow! 6 eyes shut performers! By the way 2.11 is terrifyingly close to the sound of a muted trombone. Eat your heart out Real Group!

    @redhotmcr : I agree. They are really down-to-earth when they're meeting up with fans. Just ordinary guys. Okay, okay, gifted ordinary guys. I spoke with them on several occasions. I once spoke with Stephen for about ten, fifteen minutes (though he spoke most of the time), and all the people standing around us were like "Pfff, please, do hurry up, I want to talk to him too". I'll never forget.

    I bet they have to sing this with their eyes closed, since I would pack laughing at the others' faces...hahaha

    @greenozoid11 ... You are probably right, but I still like to think that they don't want to giggle at each other too...

    @greenozoid11 because, as everyone knows, the most important aspect of a jazz band instrument is that it does not have eyes.

    Yeah I know why you did it with your eyes closed, I know it was hard for me to keep a straight face too through all that. It's the best comedic song ever.

    Although I love the King's Singers I prefer the version of the Comedian Harmonists (sic!).

  • @Chaosdude7111
    @Chaosdude7111 12 лет назад +1

    I disagree. I think this one is much better than the one from the 1980s, personally. I MUCH prefer this lineup to that one. David, Robin, Paul, and Stephen have much more pleasant voices than Jeremy, Alastair, Bob, and Colin, I think, but I do prefer Anthony and Simon to Phil and Chris. Plus, this version sounds more like the instrumental sound they are going for than the other one (Paul's solo, and Stephen's solo, especially)

      +Frey Lemonholm i think one of the king's singers says "five" so they can begin together

    • @freylemonholm5110
      @freylemonholm5110 8 лет назад

      No it's definitely coming from the audience and a distinctly English "fohk"

    As much as I hate Bob Chilcott's scratchy voice I like the original way better. Al Hume does the best trumpet.

  • @operamad
    @operamad 7 лет назад

    I like the King's Singers generally but this has got to be the most pallid rendition of "Creole Love Call" ever performed. At its best, this song is perhaps the filthiest mating call ever paired to music. Look to Duke Ellington for that. I have heard sexier performances of madrigals.

  • @Jackman24601
    @Jackman24601 11 лет назад +1

    Bob Chilcott has a terrible voice, he ruins it for me. I can't be the only one!
