Now imagine not knowing what is going to happen, you're in the shop at the invitation of a mechanic friend who told you, "you should see this!", there is no muffler on the exhaust, and the head mechanic decides to set the governor. This happened to me. I think the guys in the shop had it planned. The 6V53 is the loudest and most intimidating Detroit made. I think it has to do with the 2-lobed supercharger creating that pulse.
it probably was, but these engines were most notable for making power from 0 rpm to governor cold most notably in emergency generators I believe so thats nothing to this beast
@@ianbrown9847 Good enough for a stationary engine. They are trying to eek out every bit of power out of the thing, just enough to do some work. Though this one looks more like a demo engine. Also, the blower might provide just enough flow to make those 90's a non issue?
It's for demonstration purposes only. It's a mechanic school we knew what we were doing this engine will never see the light of day be sure of that!! Thanks!
I drive one every day, great engines.
the old DD's were the most efficient way to turn diesel fuel into noise.... and I wouldn't have it any other way.
That's right
That redline is doing some Moazrt tier sound
You feel it in your bones!!
He treats her just like a real lady !!!!!😁😁😁👍👍
Almost sounds like a Lexus LFA😳🤩
You're right I can hear it!

That would make a great jet boat engine !
@@richardkautz2947 Don't give me ideas now!
Looking into getting either a 6v-53 or a 4-53t for my international b series, they sound too good and are torque monsters
Which one is better though? I assume the 6v
@@tims85898v Is better
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha !!!! If the red thing thàt he is pulling was longer would it rev more ????
I’m assuming it’s warmed up before hand?
That’s pretty hard running from cold especially with sae40 wt oil

why do diesels always have the most restrictive exhaust and intake manifold geometries?
@Ian Brown how is it restrictive on this one?
@@ubahd00d the 2 90 degree angles don't seem all that efficient for flow nor scavenging

Show
At 2800 rpms it sounds like 7,000 😂
Don't tell me that's 2100 RPM either. I ain't that stupid today.
hello i have a detrot v6 53 for sale if you know someone its rebuild with 10 hours
Palhaçada fazer isso com o motor! 👎👎👎

Sounds awesome. Was that like 2800 RPM?
Around 3000 or so
and they had to wear masks because it was so loud
Governor is not setup right. Was either at idle or wound right out. No in between.
We fixed it afterwards
Isn't that how they were manufactured ???? The Rocky Mountain Humming Bird / Green Leaker ...... 😁
Running the racks ? 🤗
I herded one in a GMC tandem dump with a 13-under Fuller and the fillings in your teeth would swap holes but it'd do the deal. Hammered!
Quantos hp??
would have liked to have seen the exhaust
wtf ! rpm ? дикий мотр!!!!!
It's a two stroke so sounds like it's doing twice the real speed. And then some.
