This is a fantastic video. This did not work for me, but going to the inside compartment and removing fuse 28 (MMI and radio) and sticking it back in solved the problem. The fuse was not broken but there may have been oxidation on the terminals. If it happens again, I will buy a new 7.5 amp fuse.
I have a 2016 Audi Q3. The radio works fine (the background icons and the words appear), but, only the background icons appear (but none of the words appear) for all the other functions such as MEDIA, NAV, TONE, INFO, TEL, CAR and MENU. Can you guide me as to what the problem may be?
Hi! I finally fixed mine. I had the same problem. You have to watch a video on RUclips that shows you how to change the language on the menu and do it. Just follow the steps even though you won’t see the wording. After you do it blindly switch to English which is the first language listed on the display. My language had changed to German unexpectedly sometime this year. Went to the dealer who said it’s probably my LED worn out which was BS. I hope that helps you and others with the same problem.
My 2018 Q3 is stuck in “initializing” and this didn’t work. Any other fix? Some times the system works and at other times it doesn’t. When the MMI is stuck in initializing then all lights are off on the control panel of the MMI, there is no radio, no Bluetooth and no navigation. I read somewhere that there may be a hard drive issue. What are your thoughts?
Hello! Please tell me, on the RMC 180 this method worked without problems. Once I changed the RMC to 192 I was never able to reboot this way. What could be the reason?

Finally found a video that is my car (2018 Q3), but when I press those three buttons at the same time, no reset.
Maybe try the tone button instead of back button. That’s what the manual says for the 2017 q3

Not even in accessory. You can just press the volume knob to wake up the system, and then use the button combination to reboot it.
