woww haha , hello from Greece :) . This is probably the most passionate Greek food review i have ever seen .. Like you were so excited and i felt this excitement as well even though i am Greek and eating gyro is part of my daily life haha . I am very happy that you enjoyed food from my country .One thing i do want to point out though , i feel like with people that order Greek food in different countries , like for example if you live in the United States and you order Greek food from a Greek restaurant there . I feel like it won't be the same as getting Greek food in Greece :) . Still that was a lovely video
I think you were having fava not hummus. Hummus contains sesame butter, mint, garlic etc. Fava does not. As for pitta, fennel can be used. In Greece we make pies with hand made fyllo and hand picked herbs, poppy included...
Gyros and Kebabs are the burritos of the Med/Middle East. I couldn't my hands on good burritos when I lived in Italy. It's where I learned to love kebabs and gyros. I actually visited Greece and Crete. Their versions are next level, but the shops do make it very close to what you get over there.
Almost correct. It's called "Tirokafteri" which means Spicy-hot cheese and its made of Greek feta cheese, red or green "hot" peppers, herbs, virgin Greek olive oil, salt and pepper (to seasoned it). It is a spicy spread that can vary from mild spicy to extra 🔥. Happy you like our Greek cuisine and enjoy our recipes. A Greek citizen.
Greek fries are the best fam I have worked in a Greek restaurant I would always make it for myself every time on break on god !!! The more feta the betta!
At some point, I'm gonna need a cumulative list of all of your 10-rated foods on this channel. You know, research for my eventual trip to NJ since you make me want to go there for the food exclusively, lol. Keep up the great content.
First time a video had me feeling tired instead of hungry . I'm preparing a 🇬🇷 feast today and I can't be bothered, looking at all that food is making me feel exhausted already. If only i could grab your meal from the screen and feed the guests with that. The spanakopita or tiropita are tastier when made with homemade filo pastry , once you taste it with homemade filo you'll never go back to that one. Dill is nice in cabbage dolmadakia , biftekia, pumpkin fritters and in tzatziki. Try cooking these you will never go back to take away. Great video 👏👏👏👏
I've never tried Greek food but I keep being tempted to , I eat/cook mostly Latin foods(Mexican, Puerto Rican, Dominican, Cuban etc) , Jamaican food , Korean food and American southern foods glad I saw the review. 👍 It's now on my list
@@cosplayprincess well there are so many options, it's not just gyros or moussaka....also we eat 2-3 plates together....first of all, for the middle the greek salad horiatiki...then pastitsio if you love pasta, lamb with potatoes in the oven, greek meatballs and gyros with tzatziki of corse....tzatziki is must with everything !
Come to Greece for wacations - you are going to eat much better even at street foods!!! And the price of course: here a suvlaki does not cost more than 3,5 dollars... 11 dollars cost the very big sandwiches we have...

Bro you are so good at “cringy RUclips” shit!! You make the food look smacking and don’t let a second of the videos go to waste. Gotta try to get north South Jersey just a bunch of pizza and hibachi 😭
Calling it Hummus in a Greek restaurant is a new thing, growing up we knew it as Fava (dip) similar to hummus but made with Fava (broad) beans. It is creamier and very delicious.
AFTER A LONG TIME OF BEING ON A DIET AND LOSING NEAR 55 POUNDS...I CAN LOOK AT YOU EAT WITH OUT GETTING MELANCHOLY....I AM A GYRO FAN BUT NOW I EAT IT ONCE A MONTH....AND THE SPANAKOPITA.....THAT IS FABULOUS...ITS THE BEST WAY OF EATING SPINACH..AND WITH FETA

We have an entire neighborhood of Greek restaurants that all are amazing in Baltimore Maryland. We have those neighborhoods in B More of different ethnic restaurants.
just to know i dont know why the prices are so expensive there but here in greece you get all this with 13 to 16 euros (14 to 17 dollars) the souvlaki on the right has 3 to 4 euros the big one on the center has about 7 to 9 and the pie about to 2 to 3!!!
I'm no fan of perfumey Metaxa brandy or ouzo-prefer Pernod, the French anisette, but I do love the very dry retsiina white wine. Fries suck in at least 90% of restos, best fries I had here in Quebec City is Randolph's Pub and they have a 500 beer menu. Still have not had Greek here yet, should try it.
Damn how pricey are there the foods... The prices would be around half in Greece in the past year. Don't know about Athens, but in Crete you would get these things about half of these prices. You open my appetite sadly i have kinda cut out these delicacies, the prices are too much for me as they are now. A pita costs around 4-5 euros right now, i remember costing around 2.5 - 3 euros in 2018. It's crazy. After covid the prices have gone up about 200 - 300%... CRAZY
Oh yes some of my favorite food the flavors I just amazing I love Mediterranean food I could have it all the time. They just know how to season their food.
Hi welcome to fresh hummus. It’s good ass hummus like it should be made. When it’s done correctly it should taste light and fluffy. Anything that tastes thick and grainy is not OG.
we dont use fork to eat spinach pie only hands lol ...if u ever come to greece try cheece pie...traditional cheece pie (or traditional spinach cheese pie) u will feel the diference...and always cold.
I'm Greek and here's the thing yes we eat lamb but you'll never find lamb Gyros, I've been to a lot of different places and I've never found lamb Gyros, only seen it in American videos.
Fun fact, in Greece we don't put lamb in gyro, it's either pork or chicken.
CHICKEN IS MY FAVORITE
Το κανονικό κεμπαμ είναι πρόβατο
Συνηθως ειναι οπως τα λες.. αλλα υπαρχουν και μαγαζια με γυρο που βαζουν αρνι.. ειναι η εξαιρεση βεβαια..
Also, we rarely eat humus and for some reason Americans think is traditional Greek but it's not.
@@sink7 doner kebab is either lamb, beef or a mix of both. but actual gyros is made of pork or chicken.

Everyone slaughters it...
Don't sleep on tzatziki, it's absolutely scrumptious

I am glad you liked man just imagine how it tastes in Greece next to the see with a bottle of greek beer.
Hi from Greece. In most places, fast food in Greece is real good. And cheap!

I've tried all 3 and I think gyros and kebabs are superior to burritos in every way.
Idk, I feel like Shaorma/Shwarma has to join the discussion as well.

Pita gyro
Feta cheese
