We put the toner cartridge in as shown, but the outside indicator did not change to reflect the refill. As a result, it printed for a couple weeks and now refuses to base on +2 low toner 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
I just had the same issue however... the issue was I needed to lift the plunger up and plunge it down again. You should hear a kind of click sound. I pushed it down the second time with a little more force and immediately the HP started making noises and the ink indicator on the front changed to show that I had added more ink.

I was using inkjet printers for long time and had to refill large cartridges very ofte, it was hp 45 and hp 17 colour. I bought this printer neverstop few days ago, I still have to test it but for me usually my plan is to print plain text so I am hoping so to last a bit more with preload toner but I bought 1 toner extra just for emergency :)
The ink tank system appears to be much better than the cartridge system ruclips.net/user/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 and a lot cheaper to run. The machine was easy to set up. A small point but I thought they'd be a USB cable included to help with the set up but there was none. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it seems like a good product and superior to my previous printers which were all troublesome HP machines.

The refill has 3 contacts at the bottom. This means that it has a HP chip, so you cannot buy toner from another brand....beware !
