A little thing you have to take note, you HAVE to hit Shaft at least once without sub-weapons/item crashes, or else the trophy won't pop out. Also... Hydrostorm for the win.
Thank you for the excellent walkthrough! I suck at the spinning blade attack so when I got to the spike room part I noticed there are no spikes on the ceiling so i just uppercutted my way across since thats very easy to do (basically the same moves as alucards boots). I find that doing 10 of those in a row is a million times easier than trying to pull off consecutive spinning dashes. 🙏🏼💯
Just want to say you can increase Richter's max HP in the same way you would with Alucard. Richter can become pretty beefy if you max out his HP, I mean he's still weak but it helps.
By collecting Life Max Up. They drop after killing a Boss, or can be found around the castle. They increase your HP by 10 each as Richter. This is more than what it would be as Alucard, which is 5 HP each; this is probably to compensate for the fact that Richter doesn't level up. You start off with 80 HP as Richter, but If you collect all the Life Max Ups you'll have about 540 HP playing as Richter. There isn't a good way to tell in game if they work or not, because Richter uses a Health bar and not numbers to indicate health. You should notice the health increase though, just because enemies will seemly do less damage to you.
I’m a Castlevania newbie and wow, I’m finding Richter to be incredibly difficult to play - especially his dash attack. No matter how much I practice dashing I just never seem to be able to execute it effectively when it counts. With that said, I can’t thank you enough for your walk through and commentary. It is a HUGE help to me and without it I’m sure this trophy would take me days to figure out on my own. Thank you so much for putting this together!
Very happy to help! A lot of folks have said they had an easier time going through the Colosseum, but those enemies basically 2 shot Richter, so I was always too afraid to try.

For all those who have a difficulties with this tackle combination and want to skip the spike room. There's an alternative path through the colosseum. Enemies are tough there but with the holy rain attack you should be fine. It's hard to reach the save points there but you can quick save at the beginning and copy your save game to the cloud and reload it in case you shouldn't make it at first try. That's how it worked for me. However thank you for this guide. It was a great help though.
Thanks for this video. I followed it easily. The hardest part was the spike room. I couldn’t easily do the second tackle of an uppercut, tackle, tackle combo, but I spike hurt, jumped and tackled again to eventually eke my way out. I knew those 10 years of playing Street Fighter would come in handy one day! ;)
I followed this up until the area with the spiked floor in the inverted castle...I just can't get the tackle to respond for me when I need it. I took holy water and loads of hearts and hydro stormed my way into the reverse arena. I then hydro stormed through the enemies into olrox's quarters and to shaft from there. Thanks for doing these videos!
Back flipping works as well. The damage jolts you slightly forward and when pressed next to a platform you jump onto the platform. Kill the dancers and repeat. Made it with about 10% health left.
Regarding the spiked floor area, if anyone is having trouble with it remember that you don't have to get through it with full HP. You can fall into the spikes up to four times I believe and still make it. It took me around three time to get the hang of it. I found the staircase area more annoying. Maybe because I was trying to get through it like the guy in the video instead of meticulously killing the enemies. Now, here's some useful tips for the uppercut and tackle. To chain multiple uppercuts, don't spam the next uppercut move while you're still in the animation. Wait for it to almost finish then do the next one. From what I've noticed, you don't even have to do the down>up motion that fast. What's important is to press up and X at the same time. Now for the tackle; my only tip is that when you go up>down>down forward>forward it seems like the command registers even if you do the quarter-circle forward without pressing the very end of the d-pad. So a lot of the times you can do up>down>down forward + square. And remember that in the spiked area you have to do it mirrored (on the left side of the d-pad) which in my opinion is much easier. If you can't do the jump very well, instead of upper cutting into a tackle, it is a lot easier to simply dash jump towards/over the spikes and then tackle towards the next platform. You may not make it the whole way and fall into the spikes, but you can simply jump and tackle out of the spikes. I cannot tackle consistently. I died once to the spikes and made it through my second time doing this! Hope this helps
I ended up having to go through the coliseum I just couldn't get through the spikes. However it was super easy to get through from the save point before the spikes. Nice guide.
For the life of me I can’t figure out how to tackle consistently. It’s works like 20% of the time, but most of the time it doesn’t register. I’m having a tough enough time getting the high upper cut to work every time. 😂
It's the most difficult of his abilities. It's actually easier to do on an arcade stick, believe it or not lol. You can go further up the chapel and go through the coliseum, but there's a lot of enemies so you gotta be careful.

The spike pit was a absolute nightmare and tried both the dpad and joystick method to get the uppercut and tackle combo but didn't respond. I tried the method @Ryan-pq6ej suggested and after a few attempts got past it. This was the only trophy I needed and got my very 1st platinum trophy. I salute you good sir😎💯🤟

Okay, the spike room part (@ 17)... really if you just dash twice in a row from the edge of a platform, I was allowed to go into my jump animation from that. Basically, 2 dashes will punch you into the edge of the platform you're going to next, and when it does, just jump at that point. Way easier method. Anyway, awesome vids dude!

This trophy is glitched. Some people are saying that you need to hit him with the whip at least once during the fight to get the trophy. Hitting him with the whip during the battle didn't work for me. Beating Shaft without taking damage didn't work either. I only got the trophy after doing the following: Beat Shaft Let credits play out in their entirety Restart PS4 Load game Change sub-weapon (I changed from Cross to Holy Water) Return to final save point Save game to new file Then beat Shaft with a single item crash from Holy Water
This is a great walkthrough but wish you took an alternate route that avoided having to master the tackle move at the end, it's so fricken unresponsive
If you go all the way up the Bell tower, then exit to the right, the entrance to the colosseum is in that room. You still need the tackle to reliably get through the enemies, but it is another way through. You can also go through the rest of the Bell tower, into the alchemy lab, then the entrance into the black marble gallery. Either way you go, the tackle is going to be really important.

I did the same thing. It took one more boss but it was so less stressful.

I kept having. Issues with the tackle registering as well, too unreliable. I’m lucky if I get 2 to work in a row.
