I personally think that the US interferes too much in global affairs, but what they're referring to here is protecting embassies, which is a normal thing that every country does.
Problem with the US is they think everything is a threat to them.
Allies may turn against you, enemies might be your friend, who knows? Anyways yeah, even the US thinks their president is a threat lol.

@Doge Master to me not really, I’m Asian, he supports life, against killing babies, law and order for his country, also keeping out illegal aliens at bay, of course they need to come in legally with background checks.
Also, he’s relatively protective of America’s economy engaging in trade wars and against security threats from China or Iran. Pretty sure that’s up to his advisors, but he’s the kinda like hope for blue collar workers, less government pressure and control over be individual.
The reason we are the most powerful country on earth is because we look at every other country as a potential threat and an issue of national security. We may not be around forever, but we'll stand for years to come
My years working as a Marine Security Guard were some of the best years of my time in the Marine Corps!! I would gladly do it all over again in a heartbeat...OORAH!

Actually it is the duty of the host nation to provide security at the embassies. Most embassy compounds are also guarded by private security contractors. There are Marines who are tasked with guarding embassies, but they don’t do it alone

Here in the Philippines, your embassy here is guarded by a member of SAF. An elite member of the Phil. National police. These guys are experts in urban warfare, in fact you can see a land rover defender with a M60 machine gun on top guarding your embassy..

Vikram Nandakumaran Benghazi was a temporary diplomatic annex. They just rented a rich guys house so that the Ambassador could go out there for a couple of weeks. They had almost none of the security measures that an actual embassy or consulate would have.

Vikram Nandakumaran I was a Marine Security Guard for 3 years, and after seeing the mind numbing amount of bureaucracy in the DoS I am confident when I say; "Hillary Clinton never saw those memos." There are so many aides, deputy secretaries, under secretaries, deputy under secretaries, and bureaus in the Department that it is almost impossible that she personally would have seen them. I am no fan of hers, but I also won't lay something at her feet that I can say with nearly absolute certainty, she had no knowledge of.
Vikram Nandakumaran Also, they did have local security, and several Diplomatic Security Agents on scene. However, most local guards aren't armed, and 3 or 4 DS agents don't do much against a company sized attack. DoS has certain guidelines and rules regarding the amount of US security personnel and infrastructure because their job is diplomacy. The Marines could make an Embassy so secure that nothing would ever happen, but it would not allow State Officers to be effective diplomats.
The Marines say they defend their embassies by lost their own embassy in Tehran (Iran) 4th of November 1979 because the Marines were afraid of a large group of unarmed protesters and students. The Marines surrendered and became hostages for 444 days. That is a historical fact.

So many ignorant people. The HOST country is solely responsible for the actual security of the embassies. The Marines are there for dressing. Think about this, if every embassy, of every country in the US were responsible for their own defense, then there would be standing armies from foreign nations on the streets of NY and DC. Picture Russian soldiers, an ARMY of Russian soldiers, here, acting in defense of their embassy. Failures of defense can be seen clearly with the Iranian failure and the taking of our diplomats as hostages. A small detachment of Marines was not going to stop that. They were actually ordered by the Ambassador in charge to lay down their arms.
They should allso have them in the presidency wear thers war and there protection bases because I sis can try to take them over example the chemical ataks just had me thinking .
