  • Shani: The Power of Saturn: Robert Svoboda, Abhishek Singh & Anubhav Nath
Robert Svoboda is the first Westerner ever to graduate from a college of Ayurveda and be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. During and after his formal Ayurvedic training, Dr. Svoboda was tutored in Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotish, Tantra and other forms of classical Indian lore by his mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda. He is the author of over a dozen books and has served as Adjunct Faculty at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico and at Bastyr University in Washington.
Abhishek Singh has been working on imagery of gods and goddesses for nearly two decades. His graphic novel, Krishna -A Journey Within, Deepak Chopra and Shekhar Kapur's Ramayana 3392 A.D, Kali and Shiva, have sold over half a million copies and have been translated in four languages. His book, Namaha : Stories from the Land of Gods and Goddesses corroborates his story telling and visual art practice. His artworks are exhibited at museums across the world.
Anubhav Nath is the director of Ojas Art, an arts initiative and co-founder of the Ramchander Nath Foundation. Nathhas written for publications like The Art Newspaper and Businessweek. Besides art, he has a keen interest in vintage automobiles. A firm believer in mentorship, Nath is a trustee at Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT) working to provide support services for nearly 100,000 street and working children. In 2014, the White House presented SBT the US President’s Committee of Arts and Humanities Award for an International Organisation.
An illuminating session on the subtle and continuing influence of the planet Saturn on our lives. Ayurvedic doctor, scholar and best selling author Robert Svoboda elaborates on the Greatness of Saturn, a powerful myth taken from the East Indian Vedic tradition, honouring the planet which personifies time, limitation, loss and adversity. In conversation with artist Abhishek Singh, they interpret the myth together and deliberate on its immense therapeutic potential to bring hope, to heal and to ultimately provide a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.

Dr Svoboda spent 40 years in India. Started studies in Pune in his 20s while most of Indians in the last 50 years have been moving to USA he moved to India and stayed in India, soaked in all great knowledge sources of spirituality. He studied Ayurveda, with Dr Vasant Lad in Pune started late 70s. What a great human being and blessed to have him share his knowledge and phenomenal communicator
