Guttsu i wouldnt mind David productions taking a crack at berserk, seeing what they did with the JOJO reboot they completely respected the source material when adapting it on top of making stylistic choose that matched the tone of the series
Guttsu, you and eddy9524 are both wrong. Madhouse will never adapt Berserk mainly because of it's reputation. A good anime adaptation of Berserk can't be done nowadays because every studio is using now digital. DP only animated JoJo because it was a small studio so they could experimentate with it something the mainstream studio will never do because they're afraid of backlash. Tell who has heard of David Productions before JoJo. Also, DiU almost bankrupted DP which is why they had 7 conventions since part 4 ended. Oh, and the Rohan OVA is their little experiment for the faces of Vento Aureo.
Raiciu Narcis actually I'm pretty confident it can as much as you'd like to disagree what this adaptation fails is capturing the beauty of berserk, this adaption focuses to much on the action sequences when it should rely more on atmosphere just as the '97 adaption did I believe it can be done by a studio more competent

The first 45 seconds of this opening captures what the anime shoud have done so perfectly, it actually hurts me as a fan. The endless stuggle, loneliness in even a company, and the heartbreak to watch over someone, who changed so much you don't even recognise hem, but you cling to them, because they are the last conduit to your own past... god damn it, why they had to fuck up the adaptation?
I can tell you're a spoiled, post-2000 baby that determines how good shows are based solely on aesthetics. Aesthetics don't make a show good, the story does. Shows in the 80s and 90s typically had cheaper animation but they were still good shows. The more recent Berserk anime does have cheaper animation but it's still good because it's faithful to the manga. It's better than the 3-part mini-series, which was beautifully animated but the pacing was horrible and it took so many liberties with the story. So much was cut out.
The Truth Yeah, but this is Berserk. A seinen, Madhouse produced OPM anime because they knew that it would have got lot of profit from it. Berserk will never get the same profit, not even close, because it's made for adults.
The director has so much of an urge to never keep the camera still that he felt the need to go back to the intro and make Griffith pan across the screen

The few second of the op you can feel how gutts feel relieved to have peoples helping him taking care of Casca, he was like a hound carrying a corpse with a rope though his neck the whole series, and thoses friend helped him even if his appearance is a dangerous one. Gutts is a loyal person, in any way you look at, never once did he betray.

Late reply, but I think the reason it's like that is because of the theme of dreams. Like Guts the people in his group are young and chasing their dreams(unlike the older folk who gave up). The seasoned warriors and legends+the people following Griffith consider his dream powerful and worth being made real, making his dream come true makes up for not chasing their own.

IMO, they did kinda O.K. all things considered. A small company (and director) going out of their depth - for all it's problems the anime does shine in one aspect. The plain and simple fact that the studio took minimal liberties with the characters and dialogue - they even left most of Guts' inner monologue in. The opening / ending themes were also pretty good. That said, they probably should've stuck to 2D and focused on that - certain panels in Berserk couldn't be really replicated with CGI. Not to mention some of the 2D stills in this anime were screenshot-worthy.

I think that 0:15 is one of the best opening title placements ever. The brand is probably the most iconic image of the entire manga. Except for dragon slayer of course.
