Excellent video like normal, just one comment, i'm no sonar expert but my thoughts would be the lower 7° sonar angle would be used for deep water and the wider angles used in shallow water.
Thanks Adam, that was my thoughts too but I have a feeling it is backwards to what we think. I'm going to look forther into that. I took one to Lake Moodemere last year in my kayak and had issues. Deeper told me that I was using the wrong beam angle. LOL
Thanks mate. I'm nit actually sure sorry, I would have to look it up. Being from freshwater most of the water is fish is shallow so there's been no need for me to look. I'm sure they will have the tech soecs listed on their website.
@@robbiefishing no worries mate, I'll have a look into it. I do some fresh water and salt water fishing and some times it can be over 200ft deep. Thanks for your time 🙌
DEEEPAAHHHH! I THOUGHT it was Broken Ck! DO they still catch ANYTHING in that old mud heap of a stream these days? I remember it didn't fish too well when I was a kid in the 70s!
@@robbiefishing hahaha don't worry mate I have gone fishing and forgot my tackle box and bait haha Still managed to get a bass that day my rod had a hook on it still from the last fishing trip and I managed to find a potato digger under a rock 👍🏼 Catch you on the next one mate Cheers for showing off this great gadget I will be getting one very soon 👍🏼
I made it less than 2 minutes into your video. EVERY Deeper review shows how it does the topography, but none show the fish finder capabilities. As soon as you turned the fish icons off and said you were looking for stumps and structures, you lost my interest. Maybe someone will show the fish finding capabilities one day.... ??? Thanks!
Hi mate, thanks for watching. It's unfortunate that I wasn't able to lie to you and tell you that it actually shows the fish. It shows what could be fish, and what might be fish, but if you want to buy a fish finder that actually shows the fish, you may need to invest a whole lot more money and buy a livescope fish finder. I'm sorry I am honest.
@@robbiefishing That's the exact honesty that I was hoping to find in a fish-finder review video. I guess it's hard to be transparent about the cons in a sponsored video. It's sad that money can have so much influence over what is covered in 'review' videos. That's why I find it difficult to trust anyone - especially in a sponsored video. Temu used to send $180 of products, and the content creator had to do a positive review and get it approved by Temu before uploading it. Can we really trust videos influenced by sponsors/money when they intentionally leave out the cons - to not embarrass their sponsor? I should have known that the fish finding capabilities were problematic when every review video avoided that and concentrated on the topography only. I do appreciate your honest thoughts here in the comment section regarding the fish finder's abilities finding fish. It would have been nice to get this honesty in the video to begin with. Once again, I appreciate your reply and honesty. Here in New Orleans, Louisiana USA, we have Lake Ponchartrain. It's over 43km wide. There aren't any structures or stumps 10 meters from shore and further. It there's anything out there blown in by a hurricane, it's probably only temporary. The wakes move stuff around fast. Tourists comment they've never seen a lake with whitecaps. LOL I'm looking for fish - not temporary structures. Depth and temp are irrelevant. It looks like the Deeper isn't for me. If I ever get a boat, I'll consider a more expensive unit. Thank you again for your time and honesty.
Mate I already watched this and commented from my main RandomPostsDaily, But just wanted to stop by to say science news Australia aka scinews just brought out an article on the swamp yabbies you helped discover 👍🏼 Was a bit disappointed that they didn't give you a mention :(
Hi Dave, maybe there were no fish under the sonar? I like to use Deeper to find the structure, the deep holes etc... I have found with most fish finders that if you turn the fish icons on, they will show everything as a fish. I prefer to turn that function off and read the sounder myself and decide for myself whether I think it is a fish or structure. For species that swim in the open, like carp and trout the fish finder will show them easily, but for native fish like Murray cod and yellowbelky that live under the logs, I prefer to just find the logs if thay makes sense.
Finally an actual review!
Everyone else just told us what it’s supposed to do and not what it can do.
Thanks mate, I am glad that you found my review useful. 👍

Imagine casting one of those into the wrong place getting snagged on some sticking up logs. Anyway excellent vid. Keep it up!
Haha that would really suck. Thanks heaps mate.
Released some fish in the dam but haven't caught them in 3 months, might need to get one of these to check where they are...
Yowies prob fished them out by now!

Great review mate, it looks like it does a great job
Thanks buddy. It works a treat. 👍
What if your deep in the Colorado mountains and phone service don’t work? Does it still work????
Sure does mate. The wifi is a direct connection between your phone and the sonar, no phone or internet service required.
