So sad about those guards. Killed on the job they enjoyed and were extremely loyal to. On the eve of their retirement they were murdered. 20 years of hard work and so close to the beginning of a time when they were able to relax and all of it is stripped away in less than a day. So sad.

Yeah they should have enjoyed their senior years in comfort. I'm a retiree myself and let me tell you, despite growing older and having a few minor disabilities this is a great time to be alive. These two rotten brothers stole a lot more than the money.
These kinds of videos are instructive both in good and bad ways. Like it tells would be future killers not to dump bodies in the lake. Nor to rent any equipment and not to spend any money during the immediate aftermath of this crime. No paper trails! The first part of their planned robbery went well. They really fooled the Purolator guards and got all the money. Which in 1978 dollars held much more real value than today.
However the weak link in their crime was dealing with the witnesses. Killing them drastically upped the consequences. Yet throwing them into Lake Mead involved a boat rental. Several more witnessese there if you include both the boat and tow truck company. Instead if they had simply dumped the corpses in the wooded high country it most likely wouldn't have been discovered for months if ever. Heck even just leaving them on the side of the road was preferrable to their actual effort.
The dumping of the bodies may not have been the part of the crime easily proved in court, but it was the part that led FBI investigators onto the trail of the suspects. Like I said, had they just left them old boys on the side of the road there wouldn't have been anything linking the Feds to the Poland Brothers. And this video wouldn't exist.

Instead of like you Pointed out he Said "I Was Hoping to See you'se Guy's🤔"... Makes me Wonder IF The Gas Station Clerk Got a Back Hander 💰💵💰 to Wait long Enough for the Fugitives to Get Away!!???.... Like its a Well known Fact Alot of People Actually do Have a Price and If that Price Is/Was Right Who's to Say the Teller at the Gas Station Never had a Price Especially with the Amount of Money the Armed Robber's Got Away with and Considering how Much he Probably made Selling Fuel... I Know if it was me in the Same Situation and Not Actually knowing what the Guys had Done when helping them get there Jeep Unstuck i Would have Challenged the Con's Right there and Said to Them, " Cross my Palms with Gold Or Silver and I'll Say Anything you want me to!!"... That Is Until i Knew by the Next day they Should be Mile's and Mile's Away by Now and Chance's are they'd be Caught So I'd Expect Not to See them Again Or For Atleast a Very Long time....

These criminals could have gone to university. Used their skills to rob and kill shameful. The love of money is truly the root of all evil. These men worked and were ready to retire. All murderers should receive the death penalty. Those who show no mercy should not receive any.

Years later I worked for Wells Fargo Armored, even ran the same route.
At times we had well over $10 million in cash, running north of Flagstaff to the Navajo Nation, very long run in a time before cell phones.
HQ in PHX didn't worry until we were more than 4 hours late.

    Profiling suspected American bankrobbers
    a) did they have a steady job ?
    b) did they have a lot of debts ?
    c) did they recently bought new vehicles (especially cars, motorcycles and jet ski's)
    d) did they start throwing money around in casino's or strip clubs ?
Jeezes, these guys are sooo predictable. Never do you hear they all of a sudden enrolled in a University, bought a house for their parents or the best medical help for a sick relative, distributed the money in ghetto's, bought fine musical instruments or paintings (you know, somewhat more "cultural" things than "exotic" dancers). They are as one track minded as the hungry Coyote in Roadrunner....
