Hey zeos which would you recommend for gaming and general music listening between mt5 ,sivga 006 or the ricardo's my limit is 150 dollars so if you have something other then those in mind just let me know i been looking for a while just need some help and also i prefer only closed back
Ur day reviews are better lit, cant see much at night, no detail. but thanks from India
HEY Z do you know if periaptcables has an option for short barrel 2.5mm connectors for ther Type 2 -Dual 2.5mm set
The Font on the top of the Nobbs is from " The Simpsons".
Sounds like Jack Black is reviewing the fives.
It is actually him lol
I hear Tony Stark

That’s the only reason why I’ve been watching. Lol
We love Zeos
Dude...you are so fun! You make me realize I don't find enough fun in things. I'm from Hope, AR and my first job out of college was at Klipsch and can appreciate your appreciation for what Klipsch did and does.
Thank you so much Zeos. You really did me a favor. Buying "The Fives" was literally the best audio purchase I have ever made and perhaps one of the best purchases period I have made. I am not a high-end audiophile (although I did buy my first CD player in 1983 for $400 and almost got kicked out of my house for doing so) but I am also a musician. I am stunned every time I use them. Doesn't matter if its vinyl, TV, bluetooth or streaming, it's all been "chocolate orgasms" (damn that's a good line you had there). They have an old school warm, comfortable sound but very accurate. Thanks again for your review which made me get them. I was about to get a new receiver and wired speakers (but there's no need now). To anyone on the fence on buying these - don't think twice about it. They are even better now with the firmware updates and equalizer controls as of last month which made them even better.
Im on the fence between these and like the cinema 600 sound bar system that comes with a 10” sub. I like deep base in my movies and hip hop music. How is the base on these by themselves? I could get a sub later for these but don’t think I can add rears or a center. With the cinema series you can add a set of rears which gives you kind of a 5.1 effect.
@@scottkoblitz1230 I'd highly recommend the fives over the soundbar. The fives are a massive step up in every way and the bass by themselves is amazing and you can hookup a sub later on and get way better midrange
Hi Tim, Just purchased these speakers and what does this firmware update do?
@@peteralexander1155 - it boosts them and changes the volume settings to be more exact. I think it also allows the unit to “wake up” if they auto power off. The updated Klipsch app also has an equalizer which gives a lot more control over the bass and treble.
I have had the fives for 2 months, they are great. You can find them cheaper than 799. They are worth it. Play Meddle by Pink Floyd sounds incredible.
Thank you so much, I bought these and they blew me alway the amount of bass they produced absolutely mind blowing you where absolutely right about these
Nice review! In my opinion HDMI ARC is almost the signature feature of The Fives. That is what separates it from the crowd of similar priced powered speakers. I am a music first listener but it also does a nice job as a sound bar replacement. TV or cable remote changes the volume due to the HDMI ARC. I bought a pair a couple of months ago and have been very happy with them. About a week in the amplifier failed while watching TV at low volume. Klipsch support was great and rather than having me send the speakers back they shipped me a new amplifier so I was back up and running in a few days. Every product will have issues and I think the way the company backs the product is what matters. Klipsch support was stellar for me. I added a Klipsch sub because it allowed me to put The Fives closer to the wall without them getting boomy. I couldn’t be happier with them.
I bunged the ports to reduce boom. Sounds great now
@@kona328WH I did the same thing for a week or two when I was between subwoofers. Worked great. I gave my previous sub to my son and bought a new one. I really like the sound with the sub. But blocking the ports definitely stopped the boom from being too close to the walls.
@@rreichar1 good stuff. Which sub did you go with?
@kona328WH The sub I ended up with was a Klipsch R-120SW. Maybe not the best sub you can buy but I have been happy with it so far. In the past I have preferred “tighter” sounding subs. After a day or two I got used to this one. This is an amazing sounding system for about $1000 since you don’t need a amp or receiver.
@@rreichar1
Question.
I'm going to hook up the 10' klipsch sub woofer. Is it true that pairing them to the sub woofer will greatly improve the detail and overall sound quality for critical music listening?
Nobody - ....
RUclips- 23 minutes in
Zeos- “What we at? 11 minutes?”
I have the klipsch r-51 powered monitors. I got them on sale earlier in the year for $374. Those things literally blow me away with how good the imaging is. Those 5 1/4 drivers are DSP corrected when you hold down the subwoofer button. You can turn it on or off. I was going to get a subwoofer since it has the output but I was so impressed by the low end I skipped it. The dynamics are impressive. I can get it loud enough that it scares me a little and it still sounds good without distortion. I would love to hear these newer ones. I love klipsch. My whole surroundsound system is klipsch. I love how easy their passive speakers are to drive.
And if Bass are too much there is function to turn off dynamic bass boost by holding sub reset button for 4-5 sec. Its really big difference.
Just got these in 2024 and they're still amazing.
Mine come today, I’m stoked.
Just ordered a pair for $400
I bought the Sixes for my parents a few years ago and was very impressed - (made me wish I gave myself that gift!) I've heard these 5's are even better with the DSP. Build quality of the sixes was awesome. It's also where HiFi is going. It won't be long before Class D amps with DSP are better than class A. When that happens, the argument for separates is gone. It should lower overall cost significantly by buying all-in-ones even for full size floorstanders. It allows the speaker designers to select the PERFECT amp that is designed specifically for THAT speaker and it also gets rid of cable runs and all the problems they introduce (and cost of cables). Add a sub and you've got a quality system - what's not to like?
The sixes have 6.5 drivers. While the fives have 4.5 drivers. That's a 2 inch difference!
That's huge.
For music listening, the sixes are the way to go.
The fives connected to your smart tv would be great.
@@bradhuskers I agree the woofer size is a big difference. However, I'm such a fan of bass and SPL that I wouldn't listen to either without a subwoofer unless they were on my desk in an office setting.
@@djsjjd15
Yes, I've heard that pairing them to a Subwoofer greatly improves the detail and overall sound quality for critical music listening.
Is that your opinion as well?
@@bradhuskers very much so. You can't get proper bass without at least an 8-inch woofer I'm my opinion (and I prefer much larger). There is extensive research on the subject if you are inclined to seek it out. It boils down to physics and the fact that bass tones come from physically larger waveforms than higher tones - the reason that tweeters are always smaller than woofers.
The great thing about the Fives and Sixes is that they are meant to be paired with a subwoofer or two and it only takes a single cable out of one of the the speakers to the sub and you are done. It's a very common hi-fi tactic to spend money on a very good pair of small or "bookshelf" speakers, then add a decent sub, (which are comparatively less expensive) to create a full-sounding system for much less money than a pair of good floor-standers that have 12" or larger woofers included. Also much easier to fit into a small room and/or the existing decor because the subs can be hidden and only the small speakers need to be in a prominent place.
@@djsjjd15
Also, the fives send the low frequencies to the sub automatically, allowing the drivers to offer much much better midrange. Is that true?
I'm using these with the SVS 3000 micro sub. I'm now in heaven. Also the latest software update update Jan 2022, adds ADJUSTABLE equaliser to the Klipsch and remote to phone app. Enjoy!
I am looking at subs to pair with my Fives and the micro 3000 is currently the front runner. Would you recommend it mate? Also, do you have to set low pass filter on the sub or do you just set it to LFE and The Fives take care of the crossover totally? Thanks
That font reminds me of Fender, or an old diner/drive in theater.
Love the inset metal plate and knobs.
I have a set of The Sixes. I have not heard The Fives yet, but I will say I have been in love with my Sixes since day one. Similar to the Fives, they have a crazy amount of bass, solid imaging, great build. They are not quite as modern looking, and they do seem to have more of a volume limit compared to the Fives. And since Klipsch is still selling the older Sixies for $499 right now. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in the fives but don't want to spend as much and are willing to have bigger speakers. Also, I'd be happy to let you borrow them Z.
Me too! I would go for the Sixes as well. Better looking for me
More of a volume limit?
@@zacharyshort384 Zeos said that The Fives can go up too loud and bottom out. The Sixes definitely get loud but even at max there is no bottoming out or distortion. But I wouldn't say its "kill me loud" like Z says. At Max volume its loud but it does feel like it could go louder if it wasn't limited.
@@murrayphoto01
But is that with or without the sub connected?
Without the sub, I see why they would distort at high volume. But with the sub connected, that shouldn't be an issue anymore.
@@bradhuskers @Brad rawsner no sub connected. And when you do connect a sub it doesn't not change the frequencies the speakers play. It does not cut off low end to the speaker like the Fives do. And the Sixes get loud for sure, just not as loud as maybe a large room with someone who wants it "kill me" loud. Lol
I bought a pair of gently used fives recently and I really like them. Someday I hope I can get nines but man I am poor. It's fine though, I really love these. At 40 years old I feel like I can listen to music in a nice way that I never had before.
Bought The Fives at day one to replace a Samsung soundbar and to plug in my turntable.
I was blown away by the amount of bass and the clarity of highs but I needed to get used to the new sound signature. I tried a 8" sub but amazingly I went back with no regrets!
Just turn off Dynamic Bass EQ if you use them in a small room
BUT
I have bought them in black to better match my living room, no regrets
I actually like the black a lot and I usually prefer the 'wood look'. The grill on the black is awesome. The Fives don't hit nearly low enough frequency for the music I enjoy. Fortunately it has a sub out ^_^ I heard the phono on The Fives isn't stellar - IFI just released a micro phono product.
2:21 "Three Finger Slot Port" sounds like a new rival band to Five Finger Death Punch.
Sounds like my ex.
It should be an irish band
I would like to see how this stacks up with Edifier S3000pro. Edifier also looks great and does low end better, has greater tweeter and more power within around the same price bracket.
Thinking about this 2, buuuuuuut edi's ~700$ and the fives ~1k in my fckn counrty.
I paid $500 in 2022 for my set of The Fives and I am extremely happy with that purchase. I paired them with a Klipsch 10" Reference sub and it's just beautiful.
I wish I could afford another pair to put on my office desktop.
Wish you could review older speakers.
I love the enthusiasm you put into each instalment. I just got some Energy RC 30’s. In the house. These are impressive.
Keepers of the sound.
Pissing off the neighbors since 1946!
Could you get a spotify playlist? I would like to hear your test and casual listening playlist.
Awesome video. I am considering purchasing these speakers very soon. Any thoughts on whether the Edifier s3000 pro would be comparable or a better buy? Using them in a small to medium, sized office environment.
Bought my first set of Klipsch speakers (Kg 4’s) in 1988 and never looked back. That sound will suck you in. Z I think those would impress you also. Try and review some vintage stuff every now and then to see how they compare. Those would be a great start.
I have Forte, Heresy, and a bunch of Reference myself, but always wanted some KG4s. Pretty rare, unfortunately, in the country where I live now.
Hey man I know The Sixes are old, but can u compare them together to see who wins the title?
I believe that the sixes win for sheer music listening.
The sixes have 6.5 drivers. The fives are 4.5 drivers.
That's a 2 inch difference!
These fives would really shine connected to your smart tv.
But for sheer music enjoyment, the sixes are the way to go.
I too would like to see a comparison between the two.
I just had to re-watch this review since the first time you released this video. I just replaced my AudioEngine--A2's (which are pretty good but repurposed them onto another machine), with these Fives. HOLY Damn! Huge difference in sound and they are very loud. I did keep my Velodyne HGS-12 connected with the Fives and yeah, it's like having a new sub lol...thx Z

@@bradhuskers actually it lowers the quality to 1990s NOKIA CELLPHONE SOUND
This was a fun review to watch. Love it. I want to buy these speakers now.
I just recently bought the Fives and can say that I have enjoyed them very much. MY wife also loves the look as well. The sound quality is so much better than the Klipsch R51PM which is a much cheaper speaker and also a good speaker too.
Thank you for this review. Your reviews are always so insightful.

The review should be all about How a product makes you Feel when you listen
You are one funny guy! You actually sound like Jack Black. Super intertaining and informative. I am excited that I just bought the Fives today and can't wait to hook them up and listen to them. Went from deciding to do a full system to just buying the Fives with a 12" subwoofer and calling it a day. Wife will be happy not having all the electronic clutter and I am happy not to spend all that extra money.😂
June 2022! this review made me buy these speakers. amazon has it for $469 for the matt black.
I bought the sixes for $500 direct from Klipsch about 2 weeks ago. They sound amazing and the walnut finish is very sexy.
Dang 500???
This is supposed to take a place of a soundbar. That the point of the hdmi on the BACK and plus this is better then any soundbar.
Are this better than a Q70R for music?
2 things.........
1. When you plug in a cable to the sub out, it Five defaults to a fixed cutoff frequency so any old subwoofer may not do if it doesn't mesh well.
2. I seen reports of the bluetooth being problematic. Wish you would have tested that.
Commonly $399 in 2024. I just wanted some PC speakers and was trying to find the Heritage 2.1 kit in walnut. No luck. I bought these knowing that they were overkill for a desk, but I can turn the music up and move around the house without turning on my regular stereo, so there's that. My only complaint is how long it takes them to wake up.
$400 as of writing for Amazon Prime Day Deals
The first Vanatoo speaker still amazes me as a computer speaker.

Z Reviews What would you recommend for a single turntable the Fives or Klipsch RP-600 m ii?
I mean for ease of use the Fives. If you have the space and a decent amp and a sub for super lows. The 600's are an amazing choice as well.
Klipsch should start making 3 way 6 inch bookshelf speakers. This demo highlights the mid range clarity increasing as soon as zeos connected it to a subwoofer.
They do, but they call them floorstanders...
@@FSXgta For small rooms, floorstanders occupy a lot of space.
@@mihirchitnis905 some people put their bookshelf speakers on the stand, essentialy they occupy the same space as a floorstander. Unless you put them on a desk or similar
FSXgta that’s why I bought floorstanders, by the time I bought rp600m’s and some quality stands, might as well spend a little more and get the “built in stands”
woohunter1 totally agree!
For that money, I'd definitely go for the Edifier S3000 Pro or the Sixes as a second choice.
For the genre of music I like I really do need a 2.1 setup. The no sub out for the Edifier 3000 Pro was a deal breaker for me - otherwise, it seemed pretty awesome.
zachary short you won’t need subs with the 3000’s . I have a pair and the bass is amazing
@@hemantishwaran5741 I understand it's a fantastic set of speakers, and the bass Is solid. Its frequency response goes to 38HZ... for the genres I listen to I need it lower :)

@@PeterPaoliello Lucky you!
Watching this review on the Klipsch The Fives. Was afraid you'd tear Klipsch a new one but i am reassured that i made the right purchase decision. These sound really amazing with a SVS PB-1000!
How are they without a sub?
@@omrbkr They sound great but the bass can get overwhelming on bass heavy tracks and seep into the mid-range which drowns it out. Z, thanks for the review, I bought a pair in black and they are beautiful. I have them on a desk and they have one glaring flaw that Klipsch finally wrote me about on , 10-20-21, and that is they do not have a fix for the auto-shutoff feature. You didn’t mention it in your review so I’ll inform you about this annoying feature of these speakers. They auto turn off after a few minutes and you either have to turn them on with the remote or move the input wheel. None of the reviewers mentioned this feature which is deal breaker for my working environment. I wish they also had treble and bass controls on the remote at least.
I believe the new firmware fixed that issue. They sprang back on on me recently.

Ok.
Before I drop a grand on the fives and a klipsch 10' sub, can you confirm that the fives are using the same ceramic tweeters from their reference series?

I want that Steyr AUG on the wall.
If I'm not mistaken I commented years back asking for a review for the Sixes. And then I stumbled on this video today.
If you think the Fives are impressive, the Sixes will impress tenfold. I don't know why Klipsch has tried to push the Fives more than their Sixes - maybe because they are quite a bit larger (but that's a good thing) and maybe the difficulty of finding speaker stands for them - although I found probably the only ones that they fit and look good on.
But yeah, personally...the Sixes over Fives any day, for the looks and the sound is much bigger.
It is wild how this dude just forecasted the shit out of the sevens and nines

I won these from Klipsch a while ago and I love them
Love all ur Klipsch reviews bro
Great content thanks man
Witch speakers are better sounding?? The Fives or Edifier s3000pro?? What would you recommend?? Thanks
Wondering the same thing...
I must ask, between those speakers and the Klipsch the sixes.. who sounds better?
The sixes have 6.5 drivers. While the fives have 4.5 drivers. That's a full 2 inch difference!
For sheer music bliss, the sixes win hands down.
But, the fives really shine connected to your smart tv.
the most impressive thing is the bass drivers are the actually only 4.5 inch not 5.25.
So for the same price do these Fives or Edifier S3000pro give the best overall sound? I mean with no additional subwoofer.
Wondering the same thing
I must know this soon. Itching to purchase one of them. I have a sub already
Get the 5s. You won't be disappointed!
Z u crazy...m....! this review I'm watching for the 8th time now! GREAT review!
I was going to get the R-41PMs this review has convinced me to save up a few more rands and get The Fives. They sound so good🥺🤞🏽🤌🏽
I believe those drivers are 4.5" not 5.25"
Perfect comparison to the Adam A3X's 4.5" drivers then! C'mon Zeos!
Yep. Directly from the specs page from the Klipsch site:
4.5” (11.43cm) high-excursion fiber-composite cone woofer
I think Klipsch overstates their sizes, there is no way my RP8000F’s have 8” drivers, more like some slightly oversized 6’s
@@woohunter1 What do you mean by 8" *more* ? Or did you intend a comma after 8"? Not trying to be a 'grammar nazi' but it's two entirely different meanings haha
zachary short oops, should be a comma, I’ll edit it right now.
Hey Zeos, guess what? They are actually having just a 4.5 inch driver. And that's madness!
THEN WHY CALL THEM THE FIVES FFFFF
@@ZReviews guess they decided to round it up, LOL!
Z Reviews round up.
"The fours" just wouldn't sound right.....haha
@@scottmeyer6005 The Fives just sounds closer to their price point. You know what I mean, marketing..
Okay, So what is the major diff between the fives and the sixes? tks
The sixes have much better sound
The fives are better for movies.
But the sixes are for music, pure bliss.
@@bradhuskers I just got them yesterday ,,,,,,WOW brilliant...
So do they also sound that amazing just with digital inputs (optical/bluetooth/hdmi) ? Or do I have to use RCA connection with Phono? I didnt really understand when they sound best? Can someone explain?
Picked these up last week. Sounds way better than my sonos bar and the music playback is richer with more bass than the Sonos Play 5 IMO. Thanks for the First Person Shooter review!
Can I be honest? The speakers sound awesome but you can DSP the crap out of them alas there is simply no replacement for displacement. I mean you could make a bass ukelele that sounds amazing for what it is, but it will never sound as rich and full and doesn't displace as much air as a big contrabass. It is the same with speakers in my opinion, and to be honest I can never find a pair of speakers that not only sound perfect but also feel perfect. Feel because if enough air is displaced you start to feel it, and that isn't only with bass. You will also feel a screaming Formula 1 car if you ever been to an F1 car event that had demonstrations of V10 or V12 era cars.
So in short I want a pair of speakers that can sound like the real instrument is being played in front of me but also make me feel that instrument as if it was being played in the room. Sadly, I am very sure such items would be waaaaaay beyond my budget. So I always have to compromise on my enjoyment.
I was at a Basement Jaxx show years ago and they played some track that had a sound that kept rising and rising higher and higher and it got to a point that it fucked with my equilibrium or something and I fell over while sober.
I hooked up a Schiit Audio Loki inbetween my Sony TV and The Fives, trust me it opens them up huge! These are NOT as good as The Sixes which can be gotten for $540.00, they were $700.00 when they came out. The Sixes hit hard and out perform The Fives easily, you need to get The Sixes in for review, trust me, you won't regret it.
I can confirm real pleasure of The Sixes - I found best sound experience in combination with Node 2i streamer (analog output) and HiFi streaming platform + radio app. Still considering subwoofer to be added. Finally I obtained a real HQ sound without distortion nor ear fatigue in longer listening. However, haven't heard The Fives.
If you had the choice between the Fives with an external sub or the Sixes with an external sub, which would you go with??
@@hvoght - The Sixes for sure, I have them paired with a sub in a spare bedroom, it sounds incredible.
Cant wait to see the Buchardt A500
if you compare them to Kanto Tuks which one is more detailed you think?
