Great information. I’ve always thought those coins were beautiful but never knew they had gone up the way they have! It’s nice to see the Libertads getting some love. Thanks for sharing, bro!
Oh yah, I also have a couple 2022, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016. All those BU versions, and the half oz proof 2018, 2017, and 2016. They're definitely beautiful coins, especially the proofs! I wish I had more!!
Thanks my man! I fell in love with these last 2 yrs! What is even cooler is that between Canada, the US and Mexico having each such a beautiful coin. The video was informative bro and dig it!
Huge fan of the Libertad. My number one pick though is the more modern rev proofs. A stunning coin with low mintage, real keepers ! 👍 thanks Ravenhawk Coins
Hi Raven Hawk! Just watched you on Silver Seeker's video of the coin show. I'm a new stacker and learning so much from you guys. I had not considered the Libertad coins. Those are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
@michaelangelobergeron5980 that's cool brother! Hopefully you make the live GAW stream on July 6th. Giving away a lot of cool stuff. Gold, Silver, Currency, and coins 😁
Thanks a bunch, Raven, for the education on Libertads! I'm not really (or consider myself) into stacking silver rounds/bullion. In fact I'm a bit turned off by it, but I do understand why others do it. My mind might change in this the deeper I go into collecting, who knows. I do LOVE the history and art of coinage, though, and can't get enough of it. I think it's because I love and have great interest in both history and art in general. I love being able to imagine a coin's beauty and path from when it was made to where it is now in the present! In the past few months I've been able to learn a bit about the rich history of the Libertad and its path thru that history. The artwork on the reverse is truly exquisite! The Balboa is another coin with a storied history and beautiful artwork on the reverse! Keep on keeping on, Raven! Have a nice day! 😀
Thank you, brother. I agree with you. It's amazing the history behind a lot of the coins we collect. I stack to hedge against future markets. I look at it as we just rent them till they eventually become someone else's possessions. Hopefully, the little ones when I'm gone. But we never know.
I remember ten years ago that some people didn't collect these just because they were foreign coins.. They would only collect American coins.. Silver is Silver to me
I remember that too and used to get these for pretty much melt or spot. Amazing how things change. Like you, Silver was silver in my opinion and I liked the design to boot.
Very nice! Love the Mexican coinage. It is crazy to think just how inexpensive they have been over the years. After the massive silver price crash in 1980, silver spot was like $5 for a decade (90s). Nobody cared about the stuff. If only we could transport back to pick up a few. Cheers!
I only need the 1991 Type II & the Libertad Dansco album itself to complete the 1oz set. I got x2 1998 1oz & sent one to be graded by NGC. Still awaiting for the grade. I got a slabbed 2020 1oz RP PF70 Early Release. Got 5x 1oz Proofs & a 1/4oz Proof, a 2oz 2020 RP, 2021 1oz RP, & 2022 1oz RP. That's where i am on the Libertads. I only have one libertad, picked it up recently for 10 over spot.... High premium compared to what im used too....i want to get more but im not willing to pay much more then that...gl!
You didn't do too bad on that. There are plenty of years that go for double or even triple what spot price is because of the low mintage. Thank you for watching 😁
Thanx for doing his. I suspected the low mintage explained why the beautiful Libertad is so expensive. ASEs are my favorite coin. Libertads give them competition for my wandering eye.
Another thing about libertads is the word plata a word the Mexican government created meaning the metal came from a mine where that metal was the primary metal found in the mine

While yes, I am sure there could be some Hispanics who do this. I myself am 3rd to 4th generation Mexican-American and do seek interest in my heritage but when it comes to my numismatic interest I am targeting Morgan’s, Peace Dollars, Buffalo Nickels and older Mexican coinage from the same era as the Morgan or Peace Dollar. @RavenHawk Coins I've never submitted a coin. Is it qorth it to get the subscription with the 8 free grades from pcgs? What does it usually cost per coin?
@Justin Bowe if you have a bunch of coins to submit its a nice deal. Some people prefer to send in for straight grade as they feel they get a better grade when its not one of the 8 freebies. I think they grade the same but its something I've heard. It will cost on averages $40 to 60 per coin depending on what you're asking them to look at like a straight grade vs variety or an error.

That's a good deal. However, from what I understand, it's now illegal to take them out of Mexico.
@@RavenHawkCoins i..mexican so you tell me.
I have a 1986 1 oz proof with coa and original box. Is it worth getting graded?
With the prices the proofs are commanding. I'd say it's a good thing to get it graded as the higher grades are going for big money.
