So did she -stop- at the crosswalk, or just keep on rolling? I've seen THAT happen sooo many times too. People just blow through on those electric scooters. I just want to know exactly what happened. There are waaay too many details being left out, which leads me to think the scooter driver was at least pertially at fault here. Remember when the news reported all of the facts of a story? It's been a while.. Where is the video? They have cameras there. Tell the whole story. Is the driver being charged? Why or why not?
If they were on a crosswalk without a 4 way stop, on a scooter I agree, I walk every day and I don't step on a crosswalk without a stop sign, still heartbreaking story and prayers for the family
It wasn't her fault, she waited, pressed the button and thought it was clear, the driver switch lanes from the go chicken go lane and was flying down the road. She was half way across the road... she should have been seen from a mile away, also she was on the other side of 51st not this cross walk pictured. Watched it all and was there with her till the ambulance came.
@@dylanhughes22 Thank you for that, and for staying with her. I don't think the OP as blaming her directly, but you do have to admit students tend to get into a VERY bad habit of expecting all traffic to behave like the traffic on the campus does, rolling or stepping out in front of vehicles with little regard for safety. Again, nobody is blaming the victim, but taking the slow and very safe driving of campus traffic for granted is a hard habit for some of these very young students to break. Especially if they originally came from area's that do not have the high level of traffic that Troost does.
Pretty bad when the news reporter can catch people breaking traffic rules right on cue.
All the inner city streets in kansas city are very dangerous smh...noone obeys traffic laws or speed limits..they drive 60 in a 35 mph lane
Exactly
People pay no attention to pedestrians. Look three times and never trust your fellow humanity to do the right thing…
Oh no. 😢
Nothing is going to work when people are on their cellphones
