OLD Leather Smith here, Excellent as always Chuck, being old school I am going 2 change things.
I use A ANTLER BUTTON & leather lace or leather shoe string 4 closure, & I always use sheep skin lining if a phone or tablet, if bigger pouch, so nothing gets scratched. Sorry Chuck JUST THE WAY I DO IT IN MY SHOP. GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️🥎🙃

I think I'll make this project but build it to go on my belt. A most excellent tutorial! Thank you, Chuck!

Thanks Chuck. You turned out another beautiful project! Don’t worry about the extra hole, you can always use it for practice. Ha ha. Seriously, I know that hole is going to drive you nuts. Just add an extra hole on the other side and put two stitches in. Good as new and you’ll feel a lot better. Best regards, Richard

The biggest problem with those Fieblings edge dye bottles, is the sponge applicators get hard and tear up/fall apart, after awhile. Got tired of it, went with a felt-tipped magic marker. Works fine!

The refillable dye markers are great. When the tip gets worn out, you just replace it. A bit annoying to refill, but if you use a plastic measuring syringe they aren't bad.

I've got to make adjustments to the pattern. Wife and I both have Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ phones. OAL is about 6 7/8 with the protective back case on them. Easy adjustment and this pattern is an easy one to adjust for the OAL of the phone. Width and depth appear to be just fine.

A great Christmas present project. For the newbies this would be a great project as a kit, did a search on your web site and found the pattern but no kit. Think I'll stitch mine finish side in then after stitching is done turn the pouch finish side out to hide the stitching. Would like to see a sequel video with Daniel Reach for some tooling ideas to decorate the pouch. Thanks for sharing a great project idea.

I don't see myself wearing a knee pouch, but there are plenty of options to adjust this project for my personal needs. So, I'll take the ball and run with it... 👍🏻

Agree, for the intermediate or advance leather crafter there are many variations to this. Think I'll experiment with a winged back with belt slits similar to gun holsters to wear the pouch with a belt.

Agree, this is just a weird thing to wear. Unless I am camping, then I would wear it, or hiking. But definitely not traveling on an airplane.

You always do such an amazing job explaining the "why" behind the pattern! It's helped me get a better understanding of how I might create my own patterns! Cheers!

Cover the backing plate with spinnaker tape. I'm close to using that type of closure on a shoulderbag and that's what I'm planning to use to Cover the tines

I make something very similar that is just a bit bigger with a longer strap. I'm a wheelchair user, so I have the strap measured so that I cam keep the pouch on the front of my thigh as a quick access bag, but twist it around to the side if I need to put something on my lap.

Hey. You lead your sewing from the left just like me. That means you don't have to cast the thread every stitch. One less thing to think about while sewing 😁

I moved away from the Stanley knife to rotary knives and snap off blade knives. I find them sharper

I have never liked the look of stitching. I prefer buck stitches.
