It's going to be tricky to explain what I mean here, but a few years ago I bought a globe-shaped lampshade from Ikea. It's made of plastic pieces and has a mechanism inside where you can pull the string and it 'expands' and the pieces separate to let more of the light through. I spent HOURS sticking these mirror tiles to it (and spent almost 80 pounds on the tiles!) to create an amazing 'disco ball lampshade for my bedroom! It looked incredible! Seeing this made me smile remembering the time it took but how it was totally worth it!
Orly, this is fantastic! I will be revamping some scuffy shoes asap! Tip: if you use felt, you can blend the colors better. Get an old wooden stamp you don't use anymore, glue a piece of Velcro to it and cut white craft felt into size to fit your stamp. It's not as absorbent as sponge so slides the inks around better plus cleanup is easy... toss the felt away and start with a clean piece! Thanks again for all the time you spend on diy's for us!!
I knew you'd do this one day. I made shoes like this a few years ago but I didn't have the disco tile, just solid mirror, so I had to cut each square. You've inspired me to try again, maybe some combat boots or sneakers
I use them for home decor never thought to use on shoes and other accessories… Great idea…You can take plain items and make them look expensive and gorgeous

I’ve seen a bunch of Dollar Store hacks similar to this but was hesitant b/c the tiles looked cheap. Now I know why. You showed me how to do it so beautifully I can’t wait to get started! As always, thanks for helping me out. And the discount code 😂
I just made a pair of disco ball boots using these tiles 😭 I was looking EVERYWHERE for any guidance, but managed on my own. I guess great minds think alike though! These look awesome.
Someone has probably already said this, but you can use alcohol to blend the inks! You can indeed take the ink off with alcohol as well, but in a smaller quantity, a cloth/cottonball/paint brush dipped in the alcohol gives you the ability to move the inks around, blend them more easily, etc. It IS still a pretty serendipitous process overall, though.

A Rocknot strap on that purse will make it pure perfection.

I tried! I bought one at Joannes and it did the same thing as when I tried to add more. It kind of removed it instead of blending it.
