Oh yay, lipsticks! I was on this video faster than a duck on a junebug (as they say where I'm from)! I'm grossed out by stringy lipgloss. Yesterday I bought that Covergirl gloss and I wished I hadn't because it was stringy. That formula also burned a bit when I put it on.
I didn't mind the burn because it didn't last that long. Lot's of my favorite brands have that feel on application, so it didn't bother me. I just make sure I don't let it build up where my lips touch when my mouth is closed. I have been reaching for them, but It's not my favorite. I feel like the Maybelline Lifter gloss was worse in the "stringy" department. maybe it was just the one shade I picked up. Thanks so much for watching today. I LOVE lip products, and there are so many good ones in this collection.
What a fun video!!! You look so good with all of these shades. As an adult (let's say in the last 15 years) have you ever tried a crazy color? Around 7 years ago, I purchased a periwinkle shade from MAC and a deep aquamarine blue from a company that I can't even remember now. I played around with them on weekends and posted pics, but never wore out of the house. I look upon my sea of lipsticks, and most of them tend to ben within a narrow shade range, but I do have a few outliers such as deep and bright purple and shocking orange. I don't know why, but I really only like regular bullet lipsticks, I will not use skinny tubes. I have a few glosses and colorful balm type formulas, but I find that I will always reach for a regular lipstick. I LOVE frosts and metallics, no matter what is in/out of style. I also love MAC's Powder Kiss formula, which is a gentle matte. I LOVE lipstick!!!
The powder kiss from Mac is such a good formula. I only have one, but I love it. I used to have more interesting colors. Grey's, blacks, & vibrant purples until one of my declutters a few years back. I'm trying to make sure I'm only purchasing what I know I'm going to use. Lipstick is definitely one of my favorite types of products, and I obviously have way too many. My head is very easily turned by what's new, and it's fun to be able to try new formulations. Thanks so much for making the time to watch today, and have a fabulous rest of your week.
Definitely highend 🙈 Have to see if the LYS lipsticks already arrived to this side of the pond 😁 Been having "too much fun" 💸💸💸 with Fenty and ND to think in any more lipsticks 🙈 maybe next week 🤷🏼♀️😂😂😂 PS : Just checked CultBeauty and not there so not sure if they aren't in stock or didn't get here yet 🙄🤔
I love high end stuff the most. I get much of the drugstore products so I can be informed about both price points and speak with authority on both. If I didn't have this channel, I'd only be purchasing high-end.
I picked up an Elf lipstick in Dirty Talk but ended up giving it away to a relative - the color disappeared on my lips and I didn’t care for the chemical smell. Will hopefully pick up something else over the weekend! 😊
The smell didn't bother me. The online swatches made Dirty Talk appear darker, but i can make it work. I use a darker liner all over the lip and it's perfect! Sorry it wasn't to your liking. Thanks for watching today.
I've been loving my new lippie stash. It was so much, but I didn't get them all at once. I just kept ordering what interested me while I was ill. Apparently I didn't keep track of stuff well enough.
Yes, I'm pretty pissed at the Hourglass packaging. I do throw a lot of shade. I feel like for the $38 price point it should perform better, and be easier to close. It's not the end of the world, but I don't think it merits the price point. Maybe I have a bad shade.
I am newer to your channel so apologies if have already covered this but have you ever tried K-beauty lip products? They are so amazing and so inexpensive. I would love to see your take on a k beauty lip product haul!
I haven't tried many recently. Over a decade ago I was very into kbeauty products and tried a lot of lip products. They seemed to be very focused on lip stains at the time. (And lots of pink shades) I've never been a lip stain or pink fan. I kept up with the skincare, but left much of the makeup behind. I might revisit lip products again. I do love the EM Cosmetics Soft Spoken Velvet Lip Creams, and the Kaja lip mousse in the heart shaped vials. They're both made in Korea, and are a similar formula.
I've been curious to know how the about-face lipsticks performed. I am probably going to pick one up. I have been on a hydrating lip product kick all winter.
I really like the about face product. It's very hydrating, and very comfortable. It's also a bit slippery on the lips. It can make it's way outside my natural lip line easily and into my fine lines. It's not so pigmented that it looks super intense in my fine lip lines. A liner keeps it inside my lip line, but I don't frequently use on when reaching for this formula. It might be more noticeable in a brighter color. 🤷♀️ I saw the red shades in store at Ulta yesterday, but decided to wait on picking it up. I might eventually, but I'm reaching for the WnW sheer red in Cherry Syrup right now. (and the balm from House of Sillage)
I keep looking at the BP pep talk pink but I get thrown off because it doesn’t look “pink” to me. Not in the web page photos, and not on you. It looks more russet/peachy. I really like the color in the photos, but I don’t want a pink lip. How would you describe that color?
Yes, It's only negligibly pink. It reads more deep nude with a hint of pink on me. Very much like a warmer rosewood shade. I know personal skin undertone would change the way it looks on individuals. If it helps, I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in shade 1N0, shade 1 in every Charlotte Tilbury Foundation (sometimes they're still to dark for me) and shade 2 of the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Foundation. I also wear 0.5N in the L'Oreal True Match Foundation if you're more of a drugstore foundation person.
@@thelipstickgal Thank you! That’s how I read the color and it’s what I was hoping for. The name just kept putting me off. I have similar coloring to you so your videos are so helpful for me! Also just turned 50 😄
@@sarahmongano4944 this is a very comfortable formula on my lips, and doesn't tend to feather out of my lips in my fine lines in a noticable way. It's comfortable and easy to wear. It's not one I usually pair with a lip liner. I don't find i have to. . . yet. 😉
@@thelipstickgal I had the same disappoint as you with the Unlipsticks, though mine haven’t broken, but I love the Sheer Mocha color. And Fuzz in Glossier Gen G. Hoping that Peptalk Pink is the more intense version in that general color family 😄
They're both extremely pigmented, but the ND one can hang through a meal as long as the food is not full of oils. The YSL needs touching up after eating more than a snack or having a beverage. (I need to touch up the center of the lips after eating a meal.) Sometimes I can smoosh my lips together or use a finger to redistribute what I already have on my lips, but inevitably there's a small bald patch on my lips after eating a meal with the YSL lippie. It's not a deal breaker, but I though you should know. There is a huge difference in the amount of product you get. The YSL has 0.1 oz for $45. ($450 per ounce) The ND has 0.028 oz for $27. ($964 & change per ounce) Sometimes cost per ounce is more important to me, but with a red lipstick, I weigh the wear and ease of application as well as price and cosmetic elegance. They both apply really easily, but the ND will be more precise in the long run. It won't get as blunt over time, but will run out sooner. They both require a lip liner for ultimate precision, but most of my reds do these days. I rarely wear a bold lip color without liner now that I'm 48. I hope that's helpful. Thanks for watching!
@@thelipstickgal Thank you! I’ll have to give the Natasha Denona a shot. The magnetic packaging on a slim line lipstick is very appealing. Price per an ounce on a red lipstick is tricky I don’t think I’ve ever used one up.
@@katiebell9895 I've gone through multiple tubes of red. Usually a sheer formula, but I have finished one of the Hourglass Confession Slim lipsticks. Those are also very expensive price per ounce, but the slim line package make application a cinch! I'm really enjoying this new ones from ND.
Wow that essence hydra matte shade it's beautiful 😍
It's so punchy and I LOVE it!
Also you rock every single colour!!
Thanks. I'm fortunate to have the undertone that works with most lip products.
