try shooting zombies in the head if possible, if you've unlocked it theres a perk/ability that allows you to hold shift to aim for the head

If you perfectly time your block, you can throw those running dualwield guys in foundry and another similar type of enemy you will face sooner.
I gotta take a moment to appreciate the voices Batey gives for the dialogue. Makes it that much more immersive/funny.

@@TheBatesee And we (at least I do!) Love to hear the voices to put to each character, they make the gameplay more engaging. Personally, I like to hear you out of your comfort zone trying different accents :D
@@TheBatesee Dude, it's honestly so good puts a lot more personality into the characters plus the game having the choice to put on voice-acting is really nice since it's left to the interpretation of the player

TBH my gamestyle of this game is "grind as fast as possible to become a flying god of death", so it's nice to see someone play a bit more slower for comparison. When the game really starts going though, is after the second core upgrades, I feel.
Fair enough! I was like that on my first playthrough I did on my own :)
I guess adding commentary has slowed me down a bit, but I'm noticing a lot of little details I missed before. Glad you like it too!

Haha, I meant to add that it was during my very first time playing that I had the voices off. Thought I'd switch 'em on for this YouToob series. I really like 'em!

Seeing your first M:PN video actually inspired me to finally buy the game on Steam. (I'm amazed I hadn't already)
Most fun I've had playing a game in a long time, even on Madness difficulty.
(With many bullet holes, mind you)
Yay! It's ridiculously fun, albeit a bit tricky, and the skills you learn are very perishable (as you can see...).
Good on you for going Madness difficulty though :D
Oh cool me too. I actually bought the game and just started beating grunts up with my fists and it was hilariously fun

Here’s a little tip for the Mohawk guys: you can parry them!
Time your block as they leap so that you can toss ‘em away, leaving them open for an execution. Or if you’re positioned correctly, just simply chuck ‘em into the flames. Just make sure that you’re facing them, though.

@@TheBatesee Yep! Even without the counter skill. It’s pretty fun, watching them ragdoll around the place.
@floober I just gave it a go: it works! So long as an enemy is trying to jump on you and you block right before they land, you can swing them over your shoulder and dizzy them, even without the 'counter' skill :)
headshot's definitely the prime choice: they're instant kill against anything other than the big boys or anyone with protected headgear
also, glad to see you're back; been a long time subscriber, and i'm so glad you're playing Madness, and know it's lore
Batesee has more restraint than me for not quoting Shrek after finding out someone was Scottish.
Remember to use your throwables, they're pretty useful also you get acrobatic exp. Your only source of endurance points while playing patient is unarmed upgrades. You need quite a few for a decent armor. You can use "I" button to open inventory and skills menu anywhere even between waves to equip stored weapons.
I've played this game before and never knew you could open the inventory between waves... thank you so much!
I'll keep spending on endurance, then :)
@@TheBatesee Game never teaches you that so this "sacred knowledge" is passed from one gamer to another. Just to be clear you can use to open inventory and skills menu in base. In between ways you can equip weapons but you can't upgrade skills.

@@ThatMouthyFella Yeah but he doesn't mention that you can upgrade skills there too and use this feature in base.

Also I love the voices that you give to the characters. It works very well.
Gotta love the voice acting you do. Really helps with making the characters pop!
My favourite class is the disquieted. The melee proficiency that guy has is phenomenal and his special skill is borderline broken. As long as there are melee weapons lying around you can melt everyone.
Throw your rocks more often, you’ll get more acrobatics Xp if you do so, and it doesn’t matter if your over capped, it just makes you slower but it wont be a prob in the future,
I shall try and remember to throw more things. Thanks!
Maybe when we're a little faster I won't worry so much about over-capped armour :)

This guys impression of insane patients is so good its scary. It almost sounds identical to the real voice lines.
Don’t forget to get unarmed skills! It’s your strongsuit! If you leave it behind, it’ll be useless compared to melee and ranged.

Also remember yo throw button cuz ya maybe forgot to use 'em lel.
Don't be shy to use all 'em throwable or just throw any weapon cuz that actually help levelin' up the acrobatics part and plus 'em hirelings can also help with that too.

I have to say, every Batesee video has so much personality to it, what with the editing, the occasional madness-style animations and the actual content and gameplay!
Hot tip, those mowhawk dudes in the foundry can be parried if you block their enraged charge with good timing.

I actually went to watch all of madness combat after your first episode. I'll admit I'm still not sure what happened but it was definitely a good watch!
It's the most wonderful 20 year patchwork plot I've ever seen

There's a good chance this won't be seen, but for the zombies (or zeds, as referred to in-game), headshots are the most efficient way to dispatch of them. Also, remember to check the lobby at some point next time. Thanks for the upload, and good luck with the rest!

So in between watching your first video on this game and now, I bought the game and beat the entire arena mode… on Tourist because I suck at this game.
I suck but I love it! It’s a bloody blast and I’m so thankful I watched your first video because if I hadn’t, I really wouldn’t have bought this wonderful gem.
By the way, I HATE ______, I hate their lunges, their resurrections, their damn grapples, I especially hate how they have a big TAC bar which means I can’t easily blast them away!

@@TheBatesee Your bet is right on, even on Tourist, the game still requires you to be decent to make progress.
Though, in my humble opinion, the biggest challenge in this game is constantly performing the quick strategic endeavor that is whoever it is you're trying to clobber/shoot is in fact the enemy and not one of your battle buddies. Because, wow, when there's 17 peeps all huddled together on the screen, I can hardly tell who I even am in the giant crowd of flying bullets and swinging sledgehammers!

Not gonna like you did the RE4 merchant voice almost perfectly.
Just a couple tips for ya, mister B8_C . a good counter for zombies in my own experiences, is Heavy swings and headshots, so its cructial to go for the Headshots and target the zombies as priority, cause the last thing you want is to get mantled by a horde, haha!
Another tip for melee, is to go for the crit swings upgrade as it can half your attacks and helps keep your weapons usable for longer cause you're spending less time slapping heads in

Tip from someone who loves every pixel of this game and has gone through arena twice over. You NEED to prioritize unarmed, regardless of how nice it is or isn't to have a gun you picked a character who's proficiency is unarmed and you need to play into that primarily or else you'll be fighting an uphill battle. You'll want to increase your strength and dexterity for speed and punch power. Endurance is decided by just how well armored you want to be, but later you can equip something that'll give it a small boost so don't despair if their is a bit of a gap between it and your strength and dexterity. Not only that but the shop will reward and remind you that your an unarmed specialist with stuff you'll find in the..."special" tab? I actually can't currently recall the name of it but it's one of the last tabs and will contain things like a scarf, a ammo backpack, and the thing I'm talking about once you unlock them. Plus they'll look cool, so keep an eye on that as well. (My second play through was as the other unarmed guy aka The Experiment so trust me I know this stuff.)

Sorry to pull an "Actually, Batesee!" with you, but, there HAS been voices in Madness Combat... 11. Not sure about the rest of the episodes, but in 11, Tricky does some giggling at some point. Anyways.
Actually, good point! He does yell at Hank too (poor Sanford's ears couldn't handle it...)
Also I guess if you count 'Piracy' as canon, there's some proper dialogue too, despite the mic-peaking x)
