The way she found out the truth was very hurtful especially since they grew up sharing everything....I feel so bad for her. Ling Xiao is planning their future. When he told her that they would live together forever when she grows up...is him admitting his feelings for her. She doesn't understand what he's saying to her. The pain in his eyes is so apparent. He doesn't want to live her but he feels guilty/decided to take care of his mother to pay her back for his little sister's death. How sweet...they're opening their present from her. She loves them so much. My heart broke for them. Reality is starting to sink in that they're leaving her behind. When little big brother started crying...my heart broke for him. He loves his family so much.
I didnt realise the symbol of the shoes until now. In the chinese tradition, "gifting of shoes" to someone would have a superstition of "going separate ways". Wow, the meaning behind the scene is really.
