The overwhelming royalty @ 9:47 renders me goosebumped every time I listen to that utmost incredible song ... "White Walls" is art at it´s finest, it deserves #1 indisputably
Music is subjective. I would put as top 3 definitely: 1. Cynic - How Could I 2. Death - Trapped in a Corner. 3. Necrophagist's Advanced Corpse & Fermented.
I am unbelievably pumped that BTBAM made the top of your list. BTBAM is my favorite band and was my father's favorite band. We saw them live about a year before he passed and they came out for an encore to play White Walls and we had the time of our lives. Great list, my friend.
The solo from Fermented Offal Discharge is my #1 favorite guitar solo of all time and I'm not saying that because of the fact that I'm a huge fan but it's because it's a primary text book example of how you add soul to your shredding. It's an incredibly well constructed solo. It's not overdone and not completely covered with just tapped sweep arpeggios.
You just made me discover "Between the buried and me". I still don't know if I'm gonna like that band but that solo definitively gabe me the urged to listen to a full album right now. Great top 10, the Necrophagist solos were a good choice. Wonderful even if I don't like technical death too much.
9 minutes and 19 seconds into Mournful Congregation's "mother, water, the great sea wept" .......that one is just liftong to otherworldly dimensions of the most beautiful
I am not into Metal music really but this playlist is seriously so good. I have looked up other metal guitar solo playlists and none even compare. It’s like you actually got the best metal guitar solos at least for my taste. Also fermented offal discharge is insane. I listen to that one over and over again.
That entire necrophagist album is musical bliss. From beginning to end every instrument compliments one another and the use of odd time signature actually makes sense and isn't just random speed riffing. It has so much soul. That cd is the entire reason I purchased a set of pearl customs & axis peddle set. Still trying to learn all the leads on guitar but have all rhythm & drums down for the most part.... I'm convinced it's our generations Beethoven as far as guitars are concerned.
I hear ya mate. I went to a Wretched concert a few months ago. While me and my dudes were out smoking cigs King Conquer had a crowd out the door. But when we stepped inside to rage to Wretched the 6 of us ended up being the only ones giving our respects. A personal show never hurts though.
+lince zero because no one is able to play it ,it was speed up in a computer by morian, this solo really shouldn't count,I would add Choir of spirits's solo instead.
But for real though. Faceless is dropping a new album and After The Burial just hit us up with some fire. Not even talking BTBAM, Black Dhalia, Fallujah, Son of Aurelius, had new releases. I gotta put together one with a slew of new rifts. No repeat bands. I got a good one on the way, I'll show you what metal has been up to.
Cool stuff dude but shouldn't you have a bit of thrash and not just prog/death metal? I personally think death metal is the best genre but classic and thrash have some amazing solos.
+Bramble Larson Frisch That solo is actually not playable as it is artificially constructed by their producer Morean; check out Alkaloids C-Value Enigma, same thing here...
My peronsal tops would be 1. The Image Faded by Bloodshot Dawn 2. I Am God by Vital Remains 3. Fermented Offal Discharge by Necrophagist 4. Trapped in a Corner by Death 5. Morphinemangled Torture by Myrkskog
That band is amazing. That song is amazing. I love the latin-esque part right before it breaks into the full solo. It's nice to see that CFTG being recognised.
The solo in the song Velocity on this list is NOT preformed by Christian Muenzner. It is a guest solo from the singer of the band Dark Fortress, Morean.
All excellent choices but you can't have a best solo list without Dime, Holt, or Mustaine. Any one of those guys could have a top 10 list of their own that would blow away almost anyone.
excellent selections...and thnx for playin the whole endin of white walls...love btbam...def my fav band of all time...and necrophagist too, fuckin amazing on all instruments...coulda done a solo from conducting from the graves when legends become dust album..sick guitar work on that as well...maybe the solo from from ruins we rise!!! :) great job tho bro!!
Thanks mate. You should check out Periphery, Conducting From the Grave, Contortionist, Mastodon, Enfold Darkness, Ne Obliviscaris, Thanatopsis, and Wretched.
Obscura can dish out some cosmic sounding out burst in their leads which makes them a superior choice for me, I really enjoy the Jazzy leads and tapping but they are no where near as intense as say Ram It Down.
If you ever make a sequel, try and include the intro to "Revisionist Past" by Dying Fetus? And possibly a solo from "The Sound of Perseverance" and/or any Jari Mäenpää solo?
Some additional recommendations: ruclips.net/video/bJ4OjXnRncw/видео.html

Fermented offal discharge gives me chills. Theres a reason why guitarists who aren't even into metal know about that solo.
Necrophagist being only a 3 piece band playing death metal and how tight their playing is puts them on the top shelf.
@@charlesstevenson5141 4 piece*
Only in epitaph
But the solo mentioned is onset of putrefaction. That was all suicmez
Necrophagist - Fermented Offal Discharge Number 1 for me
Nope Ignominious and Pale, deservedly much higher than Fermented.
My n°1 is Fermented, but Advanced Corpse Tumor is n°2
Colin Lmbrt I think I’ve seen you and complimented you on your music taste before
@@thomasoneill4386
In Brave by Katatonia if i remember
Colin Lmbrt
Oh yeah I complimented your Gojira lmao
5:30 this solo killed me , how amazing it is
Obscura? Yes,men
Finally, someone else thinks that Ignominious And Pale has an amazing solo on it. This list is amazing.
i think this is an excellent choice. but, there's too many awesome guitar moments in metal to name a top 10.
#1 Lollipop by Lil Wayne
+Sirjustin101 there you are jupiter djinni
#1 Any song of Nick Jonas
pick up a guitar
Neh...mumble rappers can never get the position of heavy metal legends
thats not death metal...thats aliencore progressive industrial blackened pornogrind
The overwhelming royalty @ 9:47 renders me goosebumped every time I listen to that utmost incredible song ... "White Walls" is art at it´s finest, it deserves #1 indisputably
I agree, even the opening to the whole "Colors" album starting with "Foam Born: the Backtrack" makes my heart skip a beat.
Music is subjective. I would put as top 3 definitely:
1. Cynic - How Could I
2. Death - Trapped in a Corner.
3. Necrophagist's Advanced Corpse & Fermented.
Leonid Isachenko I agree with you but i would put trapped in a corner first and how could i second
Great list mate, respect!
Advance corpse tumour is criminally underrated
Amazing choices
What about Spiral Architect’s or Watchtower’s solos. They’re pretty unique
i cant believe it, this dude cut fermented offal discharge's solo short! WTF
Declan MacInnes ikr ???? ._. how disappointing
Nobody really seems to care though

the redeemer solo intro tho. damn. straight to the feels

That part in this Gorod song is among the best ones you will ever hear. It's gorgeous.
„We are Between the Buried and Me, and this is Colors“
YES
what about wintersun - winter madness solo?
The whole song Concerto, and Speed Metal Symphony by Cacophony would also suffice
matt wyman which is cool you mention that cos a bonus track on the Obscura album thats featured here is a cover of that VERY same song! Haha
Necrophagist - Ignominious And Pale.
how about these:
In flames - December flower
Wintersun - Winters madness
Add some Kalmah and Children Of Bodom and voila, you have a nice melodic death metal section of guitar solos
This list lacks Death and
Decrepit Birth is also crammed with fucking amazing solos!
You just made me discover "Between the buried and me". I still don't know if I'm gonna like that band but that solo definitively gabe me the urged to listen to a full album right now. Great top 10, the Necrophagist solos were a good choice. Wonderful even if I don't like technical death too much.
+Samuel Martin BTBAM are so good. Colors is an undeniable classic.
Your taste in music is AAAAWESOME! Introduced me to a couple pretty amazing bands.
That was the the exact section of music I heard that made me a Gorod fan.
Will be putting up another one, as soon as I get internet in my Apt.
+PlatypusYSL I don't think he ever got internet, guys
*"The first, the serpent" (**3:55**) is so but SO underrated. I love that mix of sounds.*
Hell fucking yeah, it's so clean and beautiful at the same time with the perfect amount of speed
9 minutes and 19 seconds into Mournful Congregation's "mother, water, the great sea wept" .......that one is just liftong to otherworldly dimensions of the most beautiful
The entire Incurso album as a great metal moment, also Lash by lash pre-solo is incredible.
Insect Warfare
Hear, hear. I appreciate this is an old comment but cannot simply ignore some love for Incurso. Incredible album. \m/
Obscura smashes everything
That solo is a guest solo. By the mighty Morean of Alcaloid.
I am not into Metal music really but this playlist is seriously so good. I have looked up other metal guitar solo playlists and none even compare. Necrophagist, All of their songs are fucking amazing, you can't go wrong with them.
I hear ya mate. I went to a Wretched concert a few months ago. While me and my dudes were out smoking cigs King Conquer had a crowd out the door. But when we stepped inside to rage to Wretched the 6 of us ended up being the only ones giving our respects. A personal show never hurts though.
Born of Osiris is so fucking badass.
*The first, the serpent 🐍 eargasms beautifully flooding your eardrums with exotic sounds*
My top 2 are :
1. Bishop Of Hexen "Eyes Gazed To Future Foreseen."
2.Kalmah "The Blind Leader"
Kevin Shan Budiono Hell yah! The Blind Leader is fuckin amazing xP totally forgot about kalmah shit dude!! Thanks for reminding me
No problem my man.
the solo of velocity is the best, no covers of that solo in all youtube xD
+lince zero because no one is able to play it ,it was speed up in a computer by morian, this solo really shouldn't count,I would add Choir of spirits's solo instead.
Celestial Spheres solo would fit best imo
No, this guitar solo has been played. Not to perfection but farely close. So it should count.
Will you ever make another one?
+CSPLuvarr I'm almost there homie. I have to make the next one completely worth while. It will be way better...in my opinion at least.
Cool stuff dude but shouldn't you have a bit of thrash and not just prog/death metal? I personally think death metal is the best genre but classic and thrash have some amazing solos.
Thanks you for introducing me to Between The Buried and Me via this video
The song is called "Departed" by As I Lay Dying. It's off of their album "An Ocean Between Us. Its pretty much a 2 min instrumental interlude.
There is one solo that is sadly missing in my opinion... The outro solo to Revocation's Age of Iniquity. It's my person favorite solo period.
Wow! These songs are amazing. I love metal, but I can't understand how I haven't heard these bands before. Thank you for posting a great video.
Velocity deserves a higher place, imo.
Word. Most outstanding in the proper sense of the word.
Damn, I've never heard that before, it blew my mind, fucking awesome
@@draconfir its speed up
very unusual list. thank you!
this is quite a good list dude. but advanced corpse tumor solo should be first:)
Necrophagist Ruleeeeee !!!!!!
I discovered son of aurelius with this video!!! Thank you very much dude ;)

Damn right White Walls is peak
this list is amazing
Dream Theater - The Best of Times
By far nr.1 in every metal gen...
Obscura- Velocity. Wins it for me!! \m/
infintely grateful to this video for leading me to Son of Aurelius. still my fav band
that hi-pitched shred that the Obscura guitarist does at the end of the solo is outstanding. my fav part. more then 24 frets?
+Bramble Larson Frisch I think Christian Muenzner either pitch-shifted that last part or the really high notes are all harmonics.
+Bramble Larson Frisch That solo is actually not playable as it is artificially constructed by their producer Morean; check out Alkaloids C-Value Enigma, same thing here...
Damn the drums in that Gorod song are ridiculous.
behold by boo is pretty tough to beat.... velocity though, i dont even understand that solo though
Velocity man. Ive tried to learn. Kinda have it down. Nothing id want to show the world tho lol
+Joey Strahan show us
That Obscura solo is ridiculous.
What is this? All good recommendations?! Dude. Fucking A+ musical taste. Like NOBODY ever talks about Ne Obliviscaris or Wretched and they're SICK.
20 seconds in and I know this is going to be a good list.
seamless with this video its like one solo wich makes it fcking awsome
What's That Intro Song? I'm Craving To Hear That.
"The Departed" by As I Lay Dying off of An Ocean Between Us. Happy listening!
1. Fermented Offal Discharge
2. Velocity
3. The Temple at Dusk
BIG, BIG GAP
4. Everything else
My peronsal tops would be
1. The Image Faded by Bloodshot Dawn
2. I Am God by Vital Remains
3. Fermented Offal Discharge by Necrophagist
4. Trapped in a Corner by Death
5. Morphinemangled Torture by Myrkskog
excellent selection
best compilation ever
Glass Casket? You must be from North Carolina!!
Definitely great picks, I will probably put Conducting on my next video. Thanks for the props too.
The artwork with the whale is a much more revealing version of the cover of Mastodon's earlier CD, Leviathan.
great compilation but ,to me, i miss what monsters we have become part 2, by conducting from the grave it's a fucking perfect track ^^
That band is amazing. That song is amazing. I love the latin-esque part right before it breaks into the full solo. It's nice to see that CFTG being recognised.
Damn, that's both sad and awesome. I would have concusses myself from head banging.
OH MY FUCK! I've just discovered Born of Osiris...
Personally I prefer Facing the Gorgon to The First The Serpent. Love the list though. So much amazing guitar..
The solo in the song Velocity on this list is NOT preformed by Christian Muenzner. It is a guest solo from the singer of the band Dark Fortress, Morean.
Solos going too hot yo🔥
That part by Gorod gets completely owned by Alkaloid's - Alter Magnitudes similar one.
Retrovirus My favorite by alkaloid. Hoping for a new album this year.
@@Scrimbo420 That new album was sooooooo dope!

Someone recommending Glass Casket? Whoah!
Thanks, very cool ! eargasmic!
The Glass Casket' solo sounds like Steeve Vai style, on an other scale ^^ Nice selection. But even top 100 won't be enough
All excellent choices but you can't have a best solo list without Dime, Holt, or Mustaine. Any one of those guys could have a top 10 list of their own that would blow away almost anyone.
What band was the one in the beginning with the whale in the water and it looks to me like it is Greek or something. I'm interested in the art!!

FERMENTED OFFAL DISHARGE BEST SOLO EVER PLAYED! AMEN!
Obscura can dish out some cosmic sounding out burst in their leads which makes them a superior choice for me, I really enjoy the Jazzy leads and tapping but they are no where near as intense as say Ram It Down.
