Huh Yunjin is a member of the girl group LE SSERAFIM, a group that is under the same label as BTS (HYBE Company)
Le sserafim is a new group but full of talent its concept, songs and powerful performances are the essence of the 5 members I would love for you to react more to them in the future.
Yunjin once said “I want to change the idol industry” the girl is really delivering what she promised this is insane!!

Les Serafim are not in the same label as BTS. BTS label is Big Hit Music, and only has them, senior Lee Hyun and juniors TXT. That's it. The umbrella company Hybe, acquired some other companies such as the one where these ladies are at (Source Music), but their own label is responsible for the management and marketing of their artists.
You will see something like this when talking about Seventeen (Pledis), or Enhypen (Be:lift). But even though there are some cross overs (not many), the creatives responsible for BHM are not the ones responsible for the other labels, which are their own. You will see Bang PD credited here and there because he is a producer (Hitman Bang) used to create music, so he stepped down as CEO (he is still the chairman) to continue doing what he liked.
No hate, by the way. I like these groups. Just saying that that piece of info is not correct.
As when some come saying "BTS doesn't use green screen AT ALL AT ALL!!!!!" (biggest facepalm) or "they write ALL ALL ALL their music, and PRODUCE it and ..." (BTS producers: pdogg, slow rabbit, hissnoise... to some extent docskim, EL CAPITXN, adora...) So yeah, it's bad when people start spreading things like this, that are easily checked and can bite army back in their butts for bragging about things that are not correct (or not entirely).

yunjin said “i want to change the idol industry” and my girl has been going off since debut. she’s insane, and very involved in her work as an artist, which is very rare with female idols and even more rare with rookie idols. im so glad she’s with hybe where they give their idols a lot more creative freedom, bc she has a lot to offer. i recommend her episode on “lee mujin service”. it’s like an interview where you can get to know her story a bit better and she also sings some covers and her songs live.
She's under Source Music though. Hybe just plays the umbrella for all, but don't think they direct how the different labels have to work (maybe general guidelines of what they want from them in outcome/results?).
@@loredell yeah that’s true, but i do think it has affected their ethic in some way, bc all companies under hybe have shown their artists have a lot of engagement in their work. bts and txt with bighit, seventeen with pledis and ador with new jeans. i can kinda see a change from how gfriend were being managed to how they do it with lesserafim. im just speculating but that’s why i said hybe haha

A pleasant surprise to see you react to this! Yunjin is from a newer girl group called Le Sserafim. It's really refreshing to see "rookies" talk honestly about subjects like this from the start but I suppose that is expected of Hybe artists!
Kpop quite often feels very extravagant, made to feed into your fantasies and have an overall untouchable feel to it, be the music with huge drops, lyrics of either love or 'am the king you're in my kingdom' kinda theme etc. or the sets (this is only with reference to idol groups and not indie or artistic groups in kpop)
You saw in rise of bangtan how the kpop selling point is idols that bring you out of reality. So it's such a breath of fresh air how these few new groups have music that brings your mind back to your reality instead of letting you sit in a delusion of how flawless idols are. The word 'idol' itself is a testament. Especially for a typical idol girl group its so extremely rare.
Ps. A rare instance when many armys felt a sense of rawness from a rookie girl group since most armys don't associate bts to an idol group, so it felt like a rare sight to see these young girls take a different turn from what most idol groups are doing now.
Yunjin is a member from the now 5 member group LE SSERAFIM (they used to be 6, but I''ll leave a comment under this explaining), she is Korean-America, she was born in Korea but raised in New York, she is classically trained in opera as well as musical theater, she is credited in most of Le Sserafim's songs :)
LE SSERAFIM debuted in may last year and have two mini albums out currently, but they are coming out with a full length album in April-June (allegedly). The members consist of Yunjin, Kazuha (Japanese member, used to be a professional ballerina), Sakura (Japanese) and Chaewon (Korean) who both were a part of a temporary group previous to LE SSERAFIM (they also knew Yunjin from before), as well as Eunchae who is their youngest.
LE SSERAFIM are a collaboration group between hybe (used to be bight) and their subsidiary source music, which I'm happy about because the amount of freedom these girls have because of that is not very common in kpop.
And I say collaboration because hybe manages them unlike other groups under their other subsidiaries. Hybe only gives monetary and creative support to labels under them and the labels are completely independent otherwise.
I really recommend listening to their most recent song "Antifragile" or watching a performance from them like their recent SBS Gayo Daejeon performance (6 min long) where you can see a bit of Yunjin's opera singing as well as Kazuha's ballet, or their GDA performance (8min) where they performed 4 of their songs :)
On the 6th member if you are interested:
Garam was the 6th member, when Le Sserafim debuted Garam received accusations of bullying when she was 12/13, which was later disproven after she posted her full official school report on the incident, but it was too late by that point and she had already left the group.
To put it shortly, she used to be friends with a girl named Eunseo but they had a falling out after she and her other friends caught Eunseo gossiping about them, they confronted her and settled the matter but didn't remain friends.
Later on Eunseo took pictures of one of Garam's friends without clothes while she was changing and posted them online (reminder, they were 12-13 y/o) and Garam as well as her friends confronted her about it together, they cornered her and cursed at her, and for that Garam got punished with a level 5 punishment (counseling) while Eunseo got punished with a level 8 punishment (expulsion), however Eunseo willingly transferred schools before the punishment could be executed, and that was the end of that.
After Garam debuted people started spreading rumors about her "bullying" to which hybe made a statement saying that they were untrue and Garam was actually a victim, after this Eunseo and her law firm came out and demanded hybe apologizes for calling Garam a victim, and this is how the bullying accusations got blown up and a bunch of insane rumors and false accusations started circling around and even made it to the news.
(I would like to point out that Eunseo never actually accused Garam of bullying, she only said Garam wasn't a victim and should apologize for saying she was)
By the point when the rumors had reached an all time high Garam was being sexually harassed, bullied, threatened, etc, it was a really bad situation and I would like to remind you that she was only 16 when this was happening. During this time hybe released a statement saying that Garam has officially left the group, we don't know if she left by herself (not very likely), or if her parents pulled her out (if I was her parent I would have) or if hybe were the ones who let her go.
Weeks later she posted the full official report by her school regarding what happened and proved herself innocent, to which a lot of people started blaming hybe, even though hybe had previously said the exact same things as were said on the report with all the details but people just didn't want to read it, these people ruined a young girls reputation and career and now they want to blame the company for it (sorry now I'm ranting).
Anyway it's just a really sad situation and I hope that Garam is okay and healing.

The five brainy weirdos of TXT (love them since pre-debut!) prove by their existence what goes through Hitman Bang's head, and Le Sserafim (Yunjin's group) does NOT disappoint either!
Great reaction! Yunjin is part of Le Sserafim, the only other kpop group who has managed to keep my attention so far besides BTS. They have 2 mini albums so far 'FEARLESS' and 'ANTIFRAGILE' which are worth a listen if you ask me but I am biased. This song is so good, especially in terms of lyrics. I am seeing many great things for Yunjin and Le Sserafim in the future if they keep spreading this message. She is so talented! If I'm not mistaken, she grew up in New York so she is fluent in English and Korean (FEARNOT correct me if I am wrong). She said she wants to 'change the idol industry' and I think this is what she meant. There are things she doesn't like about the idol industry and she wants to use her platform to raise awarness for it.

AINT NO WAY YOU REACTED TO MY GIRL AND I JUST SEEN THISSSSSSSSSSS!!!! I see in the comments people already mentioned that she's with LESSERAFIM, a group I've been following since BEFORE they debuted. They mentioned the group is under Hybe but that's not exactly correct. The group is SPECIFICALLY under Big Hit Music like BTS is; meaning, they share the same managers, producers, and Bang PD (or Hitman Bang) is their direct boss. This is the same with the boy group TXT (or TOMORROW X TOGETHER). Yes, they are jointly owned by Source Music and TXT is jointly owned by Universal Music and Republic Records, whereas BTS is only owned by Hybe and BigHit, BUT the one thing they share that these other Hybe groups do not is Bang PD managing them. He writes for TXT and LESSERAFIM, but are teaching the artists to write and produce their own music simultaneously. Not every group under Hybe is a part of Big Hit Music, if that makes since, but these girls are and I fucking ADORE THEM! I cannot wait until you get into more of their group music

I've come to trust your taste in music but I was still shocked by how much I liked this one. I thought the more recent song that you reacted to from Yunjin was great but you were right, this was was even better in some ways. I had more of an emotional reaction to the other one but this one has a little sum'n sum'n extra that I enjoyed. Not to sound like a company stan, but yeah there's definitely something in the water over at HYBE. Every act that I've given a shot under that label has brought me music I could enjoy so far. I like the extra touch of her doing the artwork. It adds so much to the song's message of "I'm more than a pretty face" because, aside from her being able to sing and dance as idols are expected to, she also has this other talent to share. Another hobby that humanizes her beyond headlines and kpop gossip. It made sense for the narrative. The production choices took me a second to get into but by the end I came to like that too. I didn't realize Le Sserafim had members doing solo songs.
Yea they have something special as a group and potentially as a company if things keep sounding and feeling like this. The future is bright for hybe

I'm used to check new groups left and right. She grew up in the US, plus being a trained opera singer... she probably knows some Italian and German too (and Latin) at least. Just a little, maybe. I had a Korean friend that was studying opera here and she was incredible.

The queen spoke she is sure leading the 4th generation kpop groups when she said she wanted to change the kpop industry she writes produces and make her own art and I'm really thankful she is under hybe and has bang pd as one tge producers of her group and actually encouraged her to make this type of songs
I will be honest I loved the lyrics and some parts of the song. However the production from start to finish isn’t for me (I not really someone who picks song if I only like parts of it. I want to like the song from start to finish)…
The groups she is in (sorry I always spell it wrong) has amazing potential. So far their music isn’t totally for me but their debut song is pretty good. However they are just beginning so we shall see…
