i have several Floyd box sets the Immersion sets and discovery also the Early years but for me the attention to detail in this set is second to none my fave set by far.
Nice to see an unboxing of this beautiful box. So far my favourite of all the Floyd products in terms of aesthetic presentation. When I got mine it came with many of the possible errors: the Wall sleeve, the mislabeled Ummagumma discs (and an extra Ummagumma disc too). Back in the day I wrote to EMI and got correctly labeled Ummas and the corrected Wall sleeve. I still kept the original error discs and sleeve. I understand those errors were present in the very first production batch of this box, as they were corrected later. A pity some discs used old 1980s mastering instead of the more recent (at the time) remasters. Still a very beautiful box
Some additional warnings to help anyone who plans to buy this box set: If you want to avoid getting a counterfeit version, which lacks many of the cool features such as the posters in Dark Side Of The Moon, and the black bag for WYWH, if it is priced under $150 and/or comes from China/Hong Kong, nine times out of ten, it almost definitely a counterfeit. I learned the hard way, had to buy three copies before I finally got a legitimate one.
I've got a chinesse counterfeit of the Discovery box for the previous x-mas. But that was easier to identify due to the lack of the info sticker on the wrapping plastic, the visibility of the magnets from the box outside and the lighter purple color of the box.
went through a few bootlegs but managed to find a set that was 100% and real. From a guy in Sweden of all prices gave me a great deal and shipping to Canada
It`s super,but saddly on "THE WALL" album "missing one song" it was written on album,but was not not on the record.I had quadrofinique issue of "Dark Side of the Moon",but i was a kid at the time,i gave it away.....Now days very rare.
I have this set. Very cool 😎 attention to detail is excellent. Have the Immersion sets and the early years plus others solo sets and the wall singles set. Gilmours Rattle that lock and Rogers The Wall set . All great sets but still waiting for an Animals set not just the remix.
You're have the same error that are in mine: the CD 2 sleeve of The Wall is with the side 3 duplicated. Mine didn't came with the inner sleeve for A momentary Lapse Of Reason... :(
If you have them, can you verify whether the recent 2011/2016 Discovery PF CDs will fit into this box (Vertically or horizontal)? I may try to shoot for an empty Oh By The Way box on eBay if the newer CDs can fit this box. Only thing I like about the newer 2016 CDs is the disc art (compared to 2011 Discovery), and of course I prefer the latest mastering too.
Mine is not counterfeit but does have one flaw sadly, on the inner sleeve to the second disc of the wall it has the lyrics to side 3 on both sides, being that they are so small and the font is pretty sloppy it didn’t really bug me, if I really wanna read the lyrics I can just grab my vinyl copy, where you can actually read them, other than that this is hands down the greatest box set I own and that I have ever seen, if it’s between this and the discovery set GET THIS BOX SET YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. A local store has the discovery set for $270 and you’re better of trying to fine one of these, anyone who has this set will tell you that it is a must have, no bullshit this box set is absolutely superb. I can go on and on about how much detail went into this set and how GREAT the quality is.
I agree with everything you said. This is an amazing box. And if you have this I see no need to buy another one of their expensive box sets. If I remember right I think I have the error Wall sleeve too. And originally I think you may have been able to get a replacement if you contacted the company. Anyway, thanks for watching!
Mark P. I believe you’re right, I remember hearing I could get it fixed but like I said it never really bugged me so I still have two side 3s, but you know it’s a good set when you’ve had it for years and you still watch other peoples unboxing videos.
Many boxes from the same batch with the Wall sleeve mistake also had the labels of the Ummagumma discs swapped. Mine came with those mistakes. EMI was fast to fix them, and sent me a corrected copy of the UG discs and the Wall sleeve. I kept the wrong ones anyways as they're quite rare.

I was actually able to find this good sealed copy on eBay that wasn't a counterfeit. Have to know what to look for when getting it and make sure there are plenty of pictures to go off of before bidding.

I think I will get this boxset over the discovery boxset, the album cases in this boxset seem to be better replicas than the discovery boxset cases

Oh boy, this was a long time ago I bought this. And I got it from eBay so I'm not for sure what I paid. I'm guessing somewhere around $80 maybe.
This set is easily worth 300$. if you’re lucky enough to get it for under 200$ and it not be a counterfeit, then get it. you will not regret it.
