  • Dr. Christopher Palmer is a Harvard psychiatrist and researcher working at the interface of metabolism and mental health. As the Founder and Director of McLean Hospital’s Metabolic and Mental Health Program, the Director of the Department of Postgraduate and Continuing Education, and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, he has been a pivotal figure in mental health research and education for over a quarter of a century. Dr. Palmer’s groundbreaking theory-that mental disorders can be understood as metabolic disorders affecting the brain-has opened new avenues for research and treatments of mental illness.     Besdies all of these problems in the mental health field, add the stigma pertutuated both by some practitioners and the general public because they '" can not see it" in the brain.
