Hey Todd, in this video, we noticed that you were literally like a child with a new toy. this just happens when you enjoy doing your job. nicely done. I enjoyed it too.👍
It feels like Christmas morning every time I see it. Todd, you’re an excellent builder
Thanks so much John! It’s going to be an AWESOME home!!!!!
@@AddisonHomes Can you use this same system to build the second and third floor walls?
@@kingtutakhamon Yes you definitely can
Thanks for the information
Nice job!
Liked & Subscribed! Current student in the Building Construction program and your channel has been great for review as well as new discoveries of systems I knew nothing about. Love it! Can't wait for more uploads!
Awesome and so glad you found us! Where are you a student in Building Construction? More videos coming soon!
Thats amazing
I wish we had this in Saint Louis, Missouri
Great video. Looks like an awesome product installed by a builder that cares about quality and value. From the comment below, it appears your client thinks so too!
Thanks so much for the nice comment! We happen to agree and stive to provide each client the maximum value for every dollar invested!
From the POV as someone who barely knows construction, my concern with these walls are with how each unit is connected. It looks like it's a combination of good bolting and some sealant. If used in a basement setting, wouldn't the sealant need to be replaced ever so often, and how would you do that underground? Or am I misunderstanding this?
Just imagine how fast you could build a whole house with precast concrete, instead of the traditional wood framing :P
Yes you could!
This looks amazing -- do you know any builders doing this on the west coast (California)? I haven't been able to find a manucturer serving the West coast but I can't see any reason this wouldn't work.
I want u here in Vegas.
Does superior walls ever figure in for a brick ledge with different height grades?
Absolutely! This is part of the wall design. Brick ledge can be added anywhere and at any height on the exterior of the wall - stepping down with grade.
What holds them from falling over? its so fast . do they get bolted down ?
They are temporarily supported with brackets until they are bolted together.
are pipe sleeves allowed under the stone for plumbing lines?
Yes they are
@@AddisonHomes Thanks Todd!
Does Superior Walls level the gravel before setting the walls?
Yes - levels and compacts.
At ~6;15 the narrator says that these panels have wire mesh. I wonder if that is true. I've watched several of superior walls manufacturing videos and have yet to see wire mesh installed in any of them.

Who is doing the lying?
I was hoping for a reply from Addison Homes. It does look like he eventually replies to some of these comments.
The walls have rebar in each precast stud that is tied to the rebar in the top and bottom bond beams. Steel "eyes" welded to reinforcing wire are tied back into the rebar at the top and bottom bond beams. Welded wire mesh can be specified in the outer layer of concrete but is generally not required. The concrete mix used cures at 5,000 psi or greater and is typically fiber reinforced. Hope this helps to clarify!
Looks great. Why not build the entire house with those walls?
It can certainly be done stacking the walls but becomes more challenging with exterior finishes unless you leave the walls concrete. It also involves attaching the floor system on ledgers inside the wall. On this particular house the top floor is a bonus room in the trusses and superior currently cannot build gable end walls. An all superior wall house would bee mighty robust however!!!!
As far as I know they also have another product called AG (Above Grade) precast concrete walls, so it can be done. With the restrictions that AddisonHomes mentioned.
6:40 Weak at best.
was hoping to watch how these are set. this video is nothing but a freaking sales pitch
No sales pitch! We receive nothing from Superior Walls for this - just trying to educate folks on the options.
