Blogging and journaling on what I’m simulating and learning really helps w/ retention too. And the byproduct is a portfolio site to show my other soft skill sets and logic of why I’m getting certain certs. I am open that I do not know everything but I can get to the info though! and learn it to start adding value from day 1 and people respect it. If they’re willing to train and see what you’ve done so far/see don’t need your hand held, it may land you the gig. Im always thinking of stuff I could be called out in the spot about since I’m in a niche lol. Technical interviews showed me I need to be able to explain the how’s and why’s of my processes not just definitions. And how I can start adding value to the new employer fast by leveraging my KSA’s. More research and testing but I don’t care. Working in the fed space and doing that long ass resume opened my eyes to some growing pains, tasks I was doing beyond my role, and a reality check. Now I know where to pivot. If they won’t change your role, Have documentation to prove your experience or at least be able to explain it for new opportunities. So worth it!.
That’s a great mindset!! If you haven’t found your role you will find it very soon!!
WhT are you specializing in?
@@TechTualChatter thank you! I’m a current grad student. But in governance risk and compliance. I want to eventually become an auditor, then PM/scrum master, product owner.
This helped a lot thank you
All facts🎯

id love to see a video. on the difference between working soc at night vs day. and also working in a 24x7 soc environment vs. a 9-5 soc environment
All SOCs are 24/7 however some outsource night shift to India.
The only difference with nights and days is volume
Nights allows a person who may be in school to work on other things while at work
I love the content. Tech is a process we can 't cheat the steps. Many people we see that are young have been writing code or working with Linux since they were teenagers. The barriers to entry are low yes, but you still have to a person still needs to know how to do the work. Be patient the money will come with experience.
Bingo
Yup bro. I remember we was talking to dude on Twitter this morning talking the exact opposite. Honesty and hard work doesn't have a replacement. One love bro
Right man he’s unbelievable
Sup bro just subbed after the Anton live stream
Appreciate it 💪🏽💪🏽
That’s one thing I do not have on my resume, is metrics, and I’ve done it a thousand times. I just never thought about adding it. I felt like it goes without saying. I like metrics because it gives me a snapshot of the data. It can tell a story. I need to add it to my resume
Metrics and knowing how to interpret them are an underrated skillset
@@TechTualChatter I clearly take it for granted. Thanks for dropping that gem
Don’t mention it
Great video, who was the person that creates the boot camps you were referencing? Do they have a website? Thanks!
Here you go

Good video. My only concern is your mic sounds muffled, like the treble is too low and it makes it difficult to understand what you are saying. Other than that, keep up the good work
Thanks the first time I’ve heard that but I’ll look into it.
I'm not sure why guys wanna game the system either you know it, can do it, or you got potential in order to be either of those you gotta have a genuine passion of some for for this IT/Cybersecurity Industry. It's damn near sports tryouts. Everything you do or say is being observed and shit tested. That why when your being interview somebody from the team is there to get clarity on your Knowledge Skills and Abilities for that position.
Right they’re trying to reach people to skip steps and it doesn’t work like that
