Genius. I assumed when watching this video that my 52 plate P38 would have the latest green receiver, and therefore not be the problem. Opened up, saw the blue dot, unplugged, job done. Car has been sat for 6 days and just opened and fired up with no issue; usually it'd be flat as a pancake after 2 days at most!
good advice! my 1998 P38 was drawing 0.5A, and when I did the BEMC sleep test (not like you showed, but I used an ampere-meter between battery minus pole and the removed cable) I found that it went to sleep after a couple minutes drawing only 200mA, but then quite quickly went up again to 0.5A. And after unplugging the blue cable the BEMC didn't wake up anymore for at least 10 minutes. Suspicion is now on our new neighbours, guess my car is parked too close to their WLAN, as the symptoms started after they moved in; will ask them where their router is. But anyway, will leave the antenna off. BTW, had also earlier a problem with the P38 disabling the engine, happened while I was in the technical university campus, also there my garage assumed that it was a strong radio signal, as the car started nicely again afterwards.
Thank you very much and very helpful gremlin fix,, I had some trouble with my identical truck same colour too,, I have it in Canada I ordered it from Japan',, had it for six years I love it had some trouble with the parasitic drain',,,,, boosting the truck I blew the motherboard under the seat the BECM,, I found a fellow in California is called BECM doctor he will take your board download information fix your board and send it back for a very reasonable amount of money I think it was $100 cheers mate thanks for the vid,,, PS he fixes ECM's ex well
Hi. Great video. Stupid question but will the battery still drain if the car is not locked? I have a battery drain even with an unlocked car and no electrics left on! Many thanks.
We have created a Range Rover P38 group on FaceBook, WHAT another one i hear you say? Well we set out to try and do something a little different and that is to do things right.! Gone are the wannabe armchair engineers and the trolls that seem to hinder most groups and in will be an admin team that consist of guys who knwo what they are on about and can navigate their way around RAVE to come up with solutions to problems. Its a very fresh group, and its very early days, but with your help we will get there, and not only are we looking for new members, we are looking for experienced guys to join the admin team and help build the group. We can be found here.... facebook.com/groups/925014894688556/

John, I'm not on any groups or forums for exactly this reason. I wish you good luck but it's not for me.
