Thanks for posting this, it’s important to remember the utter drivel as well as the good stuff. It’s no wonder I used to listen to the radio as a kid on Sunday mornings.
I have not heard this theme tune for way way over 30 yrs..when I saw the sunday gang title..i thought I don't know it, but I wasn't allowed out on sunday mornings and being downstairs when my parents had a lie in meant I must have watched this..and then the theme tune started up..oh yes, now I remember...floating around my head without me even knowing it was there. dum, dum, dum..knocking on doors and opening windows.....
Yeah it was a much better time for kids then.......well so long as you came from a "proper christian family" and preferaby "white". If you didn't then you were literally treated with disdain. Yeah, back then these "wholesome Christian" shows had people like Jimmy Saville guesting on them, while all the time horrible things were happening to children which were literally not allowed to be talked about and the powers that be ignored them. Yeah it was a much better time for kids then. I'm not at all against christian beliefs but back in those days it was full of utter hypocrisy and used as an excuse to ignore all these horrible things that were happening.
Hi, Barry. Here's what little information I have; I hope it helps. After 'The Sunday Gang' ended, John Dryden (J.D.) gave up acting and emigrated to Greece where - as far as I know - he still lives. Tina Heath (Teena) is still in the acting profession. As for Glen Stuart (Boff), Jill Shakespeare (Dodo) and Alison Christie-Murray (Ali), they appear to have dropped off the radar. If any other RUclips members know where they are now, put your fingers to the keyboard and let us know... :-)
I used to hate Sunday mornings as a kid...I could never put my finger on why this programme creeped me out until I realised it was all Christian religious kak I couldn't stand. Thanks Sunday Gang for making Sundays in the 70s so damn boring. It got better when Space 1999 came on at 1.
I'd forgotten about this nonsense until about ten minutes ago. I must have watched it quite frequently at the age of eight, not realising it was a propaganda vehicle for Jesus freaks. Had I known at the time I'd have put the Test Card on instead.
Many thanks for this. Brings back many childhood memories.

Imagine this being broadcast for children programming today? Boy, have we lost our way. Our poor kids. We had a good run.
Fantastic, image this 2019 with the way kids are now 🙄🙏

I used to watch this as a child. No idea at the time it was Christian propaganda. Didn't work, anyway. I've been an atheist since I was about 12.
