- Presenting the Quiz Show Quiz - a nostalgic quiz of quizzes! There are 25 quiz/game shows from British television for you to name, covering the period from the 1950s through to the 1990s. For anyone who has ever said 'Can I have a P please, Bob?' or tried to do the Ted Rogers 3-2-1 thing with their fingers, this video is for you!
Best of luck and enjoy the quiz!
12/25 thanks again Stu very enjoyable 👍👍😁
Glad you enjoyed it Ken. Thanks as always!
Thanks for the memories. They don’t make them like that anymore. We move into the future. TV goes backwards.
A bit of fun the play. Can remember some of them , but not others. They all seem so dated today and so stereotyped, but yes that is the way we where. Thanks for posting...
Love your work. I got almost all of them. Happy days
Great job! Thanks as always Owen.
Far better than any American quiz show
Going for Gold is a real blast from the past. That and Blockbusters were my brother’s favourites.
18 out of 25, not too shabby for a TEXAN!
Nice to have a quiz based on a British subject, but I never got into game shows (too much homework) so I managed to get exactly two of these. Looking forward to your next subject that might give me a fighting chance! 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Not only did I grow up in NZ but dad didn't buy a telly until 1977 - he didn't like them, I ditched mine years ago now as well - the only games shows I remember as a teen was Generation Game with Bruce Forsythe which the whole family could and did enjoy. I saw 3 2 1 and Bullseye when I visited my grandparents in Suffolk in '83 (loved the show, best game show next to generation game in my opinion as it was genuine fun) and I remember Blockbuster from years ago now when I moved to Ireland.
However I did grow up listening to shows like My Music, Just a Minute and the like on the wireless and personally I think they were and still are far more enjoyable than their TV equivalents (3 2 1 and Generation Game excluded, definitely great fun)
Enjoyable quiz as I've heard of many of the shows over the years even if I haven't seen them.
wow 17 quite impressed with myself
Excellent, thank you! So nostalgic seeing ‘Take Your Pick’ and ‘Double Your Money’!😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
The 70's and 80's ones were instantly recognisable. No so the older ones. The names of which I'm kind of familiar with but never watched as editions of quiz shows were never repeated, so if you weren't around at the time, you never got to see them. Mind own fault for not being born yet! 🤣
'Ask the Family' !! flippin' eck! that brought some memories back :)

Particularly the titles
Take Your Pick 🔑 and Double Your Money 💴 were the first games I can recall.
20/25 well pleased with that
Great score!
I loved the golden shot I used to look at it every Sunday with my granny
Who can forget "3-2-1" with Red Todgers?😂
I got most of them but the less well known ones I struggled with I recognised the hosts but the names I struggled with
Well I'm American so I didn't get ANY of them LOL!
Did well on the 80/90's stuff, poor on the earlier ones.
Got all but 2 on this quiz - Punchlines (I don't remember it) and Every Second Counts (Paul Daniels).
Great score!
Masterteam ran in the BBC1 5.35pm slot in the autumns of 1985, 1986 and 1987. Neighbours took that slot from January 1988.
is that carol vorderman on the right in the name that tune picture lol
I can remember the two quiz shows Ted Rogers with 3-2-1 and Bob Holness with Blockbusters and Jimmy Tarbuck hosted The Winner Takes All and Tarbuck's Frame Game and I know lots more quiz shows as I still remember the quiz show called The Golden Shot with Bob Monkhouse as I heard Dana singing on the show Please Tell Him That I Said Hello as I will be playing it very soon to Chris and Hester from Billyx
not bad I got 21 most of the quiz shows were from the 80 s I got right
Bruce Forsyth looks like Will O the Wisp
2 wrong. Question 20, the legend that is Buck Tarbrush.
Some tricky ones there
Iknew up to the krypton factor !!!!
16/25 scored.
I missed your amusing commentary on this video!🙃
Thanks! This was made in the days before I started doing the voice-overs.
I managed to guess a couple of familiar formats and even knew the name of the British version in one case. The vast majority were before my time and before the internet obviously.
22/25. The ones that eluded me were the Angela Rippon one (which I took as Busman's Holiday), the Double your Money one (which I took as a very early version of Opportunity Knocks) and the Lennie Bennett one, which I just couldn't remember the name of.
20/25
Quiz Show Quiz: 18/25.🤔 I made a couple of mistakes: I wrote “Give is a Break” instead of “Big Break” and “Crossword” instead of “Crosswits”! I had forgotten “Every Second Counts.” I had never heard of “Masterteam” with Angela Rippon?! Quiz Show Quiz... what an inspiration!!😃
16/25 and i was on one of the shows 4 times😊
Oh wow, which one was that?
@@stuviewtv 15-1. Was also on Today's the Day and Mastermind
Fantastic.
Now Britcoms I might have a chance at! 😁
There's quite a few britcom quizzes on the channel Janis. You might have better luck with them.
@@stuviewtv Thanks I'll look for them!
The quiz shows from the 60’s to the 70’s to the 80’s evolved and became more sophisticated.
By the 80’s and ‘thatcherism’ people were more sophisticated, they travelled more. The format of the shows became more ‘pizazz’
I think by the mid 90’s TV was starting to change and for me not for the better.
I didn't get BIG BREAK MR and MRS FIFTEEN to ONE MASTERTEAM
DOUBLE YOUR MONEY CROSSWITS or PUNCHLINES 18/25
Oh Dear! did not do well here. Only 14/25 !
Well I thought after the first six this is pretty straightforward and then it all went wrong and I got nine incorrect which was disappointing but I suppose I would be super sad if I got every single one right😂 great bit of fun✌️👍🍻
Masterteam did me 24/25
Great score!
I'll never understand why 3-2-1 was popular. The clues were mostly incomprehensible, it wasn't funny and it was overly long. Were the prizes any better than other shows at the time?
