I’ve been a huge fan of The Go-Go’s ever since I was a young teenager in the late 70s and early 80s. I think it’s so awesome that Gina is playing with an all girl band that is paying homage to the first all girl punk/rock ‘n’ roll band that really made an impact in music. I just saw The Go-Go’s’s last spring in San Francisco and they totally rocked the house. They are still so awesome! The Linda Lindas are such an awesome band, and I love their music that they’ve been making!
I remember when the GoGos were thought of as a gimmick, and think about it, referring to them as a "girl band" immediately removes their artistry from the conversation. The questions all become "is the music industry harder for girls" and "who is your crush". In hindsight, the GoGo's fusion of surfer rock and punk is way-clever, and their backing vocals are fantastic. Kathy on bass and Gina on drums is a combo only bettered by Bonham and Jones. On further hindsight, listening to boy bands, like the Beach Boys, the best of the male harmonizers, one instantly recognizes that their higher register harmonies are much better done by women. The GoGos at Central Park is one of the all-time great musical performances.
True, but they didn't start as young either. But, if you hear their new, better produced stuff, since signing to a label, they are getting better QUICKLY
Well, they're not The Warning.🤷♀️ They learned with more of a punk diy mentality, whereas the girls from TW look like they definitely studied music and music theory. They're each playing different styles of music, and The Linda Linda's music doesn't necessitate technical virtuosity in the same way The Warning's demands it.
No indeed, they're not The Warning (who are and were very impressive). They don't need the precision playing that a band like The Warning does. BTW - I think their records don't quite do them justice - the LL's sound best live.
Y'all are so much fun to watch! Your whole attitude embodies the Punk Spirit so well.
The purity of energy coming out of this band.

Wow....the next generation with a member of what I always thought was the greatest girl band from earlier times. Gina can still rock.

Mila did some growing this summer!
Awsome wow!😊
And Mila the cutest thing.
They are so fun to watch and are getting better. But they aren't anywhere near as good as The Warning were at that age.
