It's a huge misnomer that gin is made from vodka, I hear people say it all the time. Most gins use alcohol distilled from grain. Most Vodkas are alcohol distilled from potatoes. Although it has to be said there are quite a few distilled from grain tbf. It also undergoes further distillations with the maceration mix and then again through vapour infused distillation. It's do much more accurate to say its made from a secondary distillation of alcohol and aromatics.
