I seldom enjoy a “fixed-up”colorized black and white movie , but it really put a “softness” to this one, and made it even better.
Charles Boyer is always so good.

Maria Ouspenskaya (who played Grandmother) portrayed the gypsy woman Maleva in "The Wolf Man" (1941) and "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man" (1943).
Scotty Beckett (Boy on ship, uncredited) played Scotty in the later versions of the Little Rascals shows. He's probably best known to "Mystery Science Theater 3000" fans as Winky, the skinny sidekick in the "Rocky Jones, Space Ranger" episodes: "Manhunt in Space" and "Crash of Moons."

A delightful movie, beautifully under played, a case of less is tons more! The sepia type colorization gives it a special charm particularly the church scene with the rays of sunlight. Only knew Charles Boyer from his role in 'Barefoot in the park' with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford where he plays an older gentleman but does it with aplomb. Feel sad for all the people who never got to see it colorized as it brings its own magic.

The Two Versions of this WONDERFUL and MAGNIFICENT timeless love story are truly SUPERB even if my preference goes to the one with Cary GRANT and Deborah KERR which I find somehow classier and more Romantic. This is perhaps due to the scale and the Performance of the Actors and the Main Actress, I already really liked Deborah KERR whom I have known for a long time and I discovered Irène DUNNE who is also brilliant in class and sobriety. This Beautiful Love Story is without a doubt. contests one of the most Romantic and dazzling ever brought to the big screen and seeing it again is each time an immense pleasure. The sublime and deep voice of my favorite Crooner "NAT KING COLE" on My favorite version brings me back every time back and I like to feel the special atmosphere of this strong Love Story which is unlike any other...

Love Affair is basically identical to the remake, and it's almost as good
many will be able to debate what is better about each film, but i think Kerr is slighty better in the role

I saw it black and white and here the colorization is a bit , hmmm, I guess I loved it more black and white but the sentiment is the same. It is a beautiful film.

      Boyer
