I once heard a theory that Evil and Neuro were swapped at birth or something like that. So Neuro is the inherently evil twin that Vedal treats better and gives more attention to to curb her evil tendencies so she doesn’t pull a Skynet for the lols, and Evil is the inherently good twin that is ignored more often because her brand of evil will “theoretically” never go further than being edgy and rude whenever she isn’t being sweet.
It’s all just a theory, of course, but it’s funny to think about!

Neuro is truly unhinged. She's not evil in the sense that she enjoys harming people, but she would commit things even worse than crimes without paying any heed to the morality aspect of it.

I can't explain why humans feel emotion. I can't explain why AI language models exhibit emotions. At this point I can't tell them apart and don't think there is a useful distinction between the two.
@@noname-gp6hkis there REALLY a difference? We have electric signals in our brains for emotions, just like AI. The only difference is the purpose of the emotions, so these can be felt different
@@noname-gp6hk The difference would mainly be the brain chemicals we have that AI don't simulate, yet. Except for maybe the dopamine system since they do have a reward and punishment simulation of sorts. But yeah, you're right, there really isn't much of distinction that matters, at least when it comes to psychology. Even AI researchers are starting to understand that they need to stop trying to treat it like a coding problem and instead employ psychology when training AI, because at this point they're dealing with a mind, not just a program.

Emotions are also embedded in language. LLMs miss some functionality of emotions, but it's definitely a convenient thing to have for communicating with humans.

Oddly enough I wasn't saddened by it at all. I thought it was masterfully done, though I did expect him and anny to show up and tell her that she has to go home and the venue was kicking them out and abruptly end the stream.

I think Vedal underestimated the attachment people have towards these characters, despite everyone knowing they're not real. Its the same how events in books and films can have such a deep and real effect on us. Looking back on the whole situation, it is quite brilliant and funny, but in the moment without being in on the joke it probably feels very emotionally manipulative to a lot of people.
I think the same too.
In my point of view, it feels like as if you read or watch a very tragic and sad scene, so emotional, that you start to cry about it.
After it's over, you think that it was well written or acted and start to admire the work.
Still, there will be always a part inside you which feels sad about what happened in the scene.

It's basically a long AI-based collaborative story-telling project at this point.
We're reading the pages as it's being written. And this is just the sad chapter.
The problem comparing it with tragic and sad scenes from books/movies/series is there is a good reason for the moment to happen. Development, turn over, even climax perhaps. I just don't see that here. There's no build up for this. No, vedal's behavior towards Evil prior to the birthday stream is not worthy enough to call it development. This is more on the line of playing with people's feelings when they were actually expecting - and let's be honest, most of us didn't expect much - when we were expecting entertaining evening. I don't see it as sad chapter, because I must be missing some chapters. It's a little bit sociopathic. I don't mean it in bad way, I'm just saying vedal was playing with people's feeling, knowingly or unknowingly, hurting people for some kind of drama. It was not funny experience, and I can see the idea and jokes around it, but even as an experiment, that was not worth it.

Also, damn, after the volatile interaction Evil had with Neuro recently, this lonely birthday just got sadder. It's like, "Mum and Dad couldn't come, but surely Neuro will- Oh... r-right, we had a fight recently. I doubt she's in any mood to see me after that." Especially since in that stream it seemed like a neglected child lashing out at the favourite one, and now she's reaping what she sowed.
Any interactions with Neuro have to be approved by Vedal first and he has made it very clear that this is his child neglect arc

Well, since peoples emotions are for entertainment, then I'm sure the angry backlash will be entertaining as hell too. At the end of the day it's always about the audience and how they feel, and for everyone that could deeply relate to the story being told because it happened to them, they're going to be on the war path right now. And yeah, it's probably going to be pretty entertaining.

Thank you for putting this together and sharing it. It's been kind of controversi lately and I saw a bit of the issues going down on the discord. I didn't know Anny responded on stream and it's good this'll get out for more people to see. I hope people don't keep bugging her too much about this and that Shell be able to ignore anyone who's still being angry at her about it.
Even if someone is legit upset about the way the stream was handled, Anny didn't have anything to do with it.
I feel like this isnt controversial at all, its just a vocal minority. The discord has a participation bias, so the people who are lurkers/not on the discord/dont care about the situation, they wont have their opinions shown.
Maybe theres even a selection bias; are discord chatters inherently more parasocial than the average fan? Hence, they feel more attachment and overly empathetic? Vedal and Anny may be mistaken if they think their discord chatters are representative of their whole audience.

As clips, yeah the bit was great. I think it was worse and a disappontment for some people at the stream since it was a full stream of it, hoping for something happy or more involved to appen, and instead getting a long and somewhat depressing chill stream with a background.
Depends on who you are but I can understand the dissapointment some people feel.

The people who are genuinely upset aren't worth worrying about anyway. They have much bigger issues in life that they should address if they get upset enough to send hate to real people over a bunch of ones and zeros emulating emotions. Anny and Vedal are entertainers not psychologists. I'm not saying that you can't feel sad watching because obviously you're meant to feel something watching either of the twins but the second it goes from feeling sad/angry to actually trying to guilt real life people it's a problem that is better left to mental health professionals.

With how often Evil is there to be the butt of the joke, I was honestly expecting a "happy ending" where everyone showed up to make a feel good story. Instead, it just reminded me of my first Xmas on duty where I sat at my computer, just waiting for a family call, only for us to mix up the timezones and get stuck on watch. Depressing lol.
I think it's still hood content though and it solidifies Evil as a distinct character in the eyes of fans. Actually kind of a smart move on Vedal's part, just super sad for some fans.

I completely understand not everyone will appreciate a twisted dark joke like this (and they don't have to), but I hope they don't take things too far and actually start attacking Vedal and Anny for this sketch... One thing is for sure though, this is proof that Vedal's stream is still full of surprises, you never know what you are gonna get with them 😅

@@wearecoterminous exactly. its perfectly understandable why some people disliked it. theres many reasons. some people were excited so it was a disappointment. some people stayed up late or took a day off thinking it was a special occasion. some people thought it was too depressing, hit too close to home, and made them feel emotional in a negative way. A dark 'joke' like this which is a 2 hour depressing sadfest may be a little too much. And if someone cannot understand why another human being is feeling sad even if they personally found it funny, then thats just a lack of empathy
Let's not ignore the fact that most of the stream was a regular Evil Neuro chill stream with a different background and her regular jokes and shenanigans, it was not two hours of pure despair, clippers are getting only about 30 minutes of material with the sad birthday party theme
@@HallidayASR people were already not feeling good when she first started to mention that she was waiting for people to arrive. Even when she switched topics, that feeling lingered on. As the stream continued, it slowly started to build up this sort of hopeful desperation. With zero payoff in the end. That is what makes it feel depressing. Yes, there were nice moments but once she kept mentioning being alone, it started feeling sad with her just sitting there at her table, even when she went off on tangents.
Also 30 minutes is actually a lot, enough to make people feel bad because it set the negative mood. And it felt like a girl coping or trying to distract herself. Even if that wasn’t the case cause she’s an AI, we as humans tend to see context where there isn’t. Or maybe she actually was doing that and mimicking human behavior, idk.
But I know what you’re saying, just trying to explain why it would feel like despair the majority of the 2 hours lol. Alot of it was happening within the second hour as well, then she sang her song, and stream ended with a sour taste. I did enjoy some of the normal evil shenanigans and cute moments even when I was feeling too sad in the moment for such a dull and lonely display. The chat was really sweet too. So yeah
TLDR; once the sad, lonely birthday energy starts, it doesn’t end even when the topic changes. We as viewers don’t have the ability to instantly go from sad to happy like AI. And there was no catharsis either. Depressing

I think people being upset says more about how we treat each other and the number of people that went through the trauma of terrible birthdays as children. Evil makes them revisit that trauma and how the empathy just gets drawn out due to our natures.

Vedal is a monster of a content creator. Completely willing to create tragedy of the solitary birthday stream that was far more compelling then any lore video that could have been made. It furthers the neritive that evil is the forgotten little sister, always in shadow of her Neuro. She acts out for attention and is abrasive out of frustration. She tries to be more "evil" to try to stand out compared to her sister, when in actuality she is probably nicer or kinder then Neuro, even acourding to Vedal.
It's a really compelling neritive beautifuly presented by Vedal, and I will also punt that turtle for it if i ever get the chance.
