I think there was a typo error somewhere. If the used pronoun is He, the other pronoun supposed to be his. But if the subject or the author is a girl, the pronoun supposed to be She and her. Well, I paid attention to that that did not bother to answer the question because I got confused of the pronouns used or typo error. 😀
