  • Raisina Dialogue 2020 | At Raisina Dialogue 2020, S Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs, speaks to Samir Saran, President of the Observer Research Foundation, about his vision for India’s foreign policy, which he calls ‘India Way’. With ‘India Way’, he believes in establishing India as a country that brings its capacities to bear on the international system for global good. He further stresses the importance of India moving away from its past image, and transforming itself into a country that decides and shapes international discourse, and takes firm decisions. Moreover, while maintaining to be a just country, he hopes to see India as a brand by identifying what is unique to its culture and people.

Have we really started defining ourselves seriously ? By the way no point patting our own back. When others define us it is more than likely to be genuine and universally appreciated to boot. Tooting our own horn can only take us so far.

@@reardelt Let me add another whining Indian, thats me. I am bellyaching now about a bureaucrat turned politician who is a staunch supporter of everything that Indians are protesting against right now, that is internationally condemned, tarnishing Indian credential as democracy and he is the man who is supposed to firefight it. This duality of role is surely a right reason to complaint about. It is a conflict of interest.

Partition was the best thing that could have happened to the Muslims of the sub-continent. Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah had tremendous vision and he foresaw what the Hindus would be up to after Indian gained independence from the British. Mr. Jinnah was proved right. Just see where BJP and the Hitlerite RSS is taking Indian Muslims and other minorities to. God save the Kashmiris and the Indian Muslims.
