I like to watch Chinese women's gymnastics. It is beautiful and lovely. The movement is full of artistic beauty. It is not like the American women's gymnasts. It is thick and big, and it is like acrobatics. There is no artistic beauty at all!
Different styles but I appreciate all style of expression. In the past everyone tried to look the same and no one was awarded for elegance except the Soviet I think with all the diversity that's out now it really gives China a platform to shine it reminds me of watching Chinese theater.. I will say in the 2016 quad r China wasnt as artistic but I'm happy to see that are going back to their artistry . And the USA girls are EXTREMELY DIVERSE if u look at nationals u will see different style its the one thing I love about USA there is not just one type of gymnast since it's not state lead u get a bunch of variety I do believe we must remember its COMPETITION not just a performance so each gymnast must do what makes them more competitive. Its EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE IN THE USA our girls start competing at 5
I mean.... Sunisa Lee, Nastia Luikin, Shannon Miller, Dominique Dawes? I agree that a lot of American gymnasts go for power over grace, but let's call a spade a spade. There are plenty of lovely, artistic gymnasts from America
As an American, I've been watching gymnastics since I was a kid. I am now 36 and while I've seen all sorts of beauty and elegance from multiple countries there's just something about Chinese gymnasts that Astound me. The way they do such difficult skills and make it look so effortless and elegant at the same time is just stunning. But I have also seen many many gymnast from Romania and Russia as well as America put the effort in. In the 1996 Olympics when the Americans won, my favorite gymnast on the team was Amy Chow :-)
No they aren't.. everyone I know has tremendous respect for their gymnastic and their legacy. That's what made 2008 Olympics so special. They have such a rich history I felt like it lefted them up on Beijing that where MAGNIFICENT . BUT IM a huge fan of China and I have been since I was little girl in the 80s

#1: I'm a huge fan of Chinese gymnasts. Let that just be said. However--people need to quit dissin' Eaker. She's 17 and speaking of grace, she's got it going on. If you look back at hundreds of gymnasts from the past, most are a) fearful of SRLs on bar and most of those who do them fall short. Indeed, Chinese gymnasts regularly stick them, and a few Russian gymnasts have this skill. I would say that this results from the training regimes & histories of these nations rather than one person's innate gift or lack thereof. Give Eaker time. In the U.S., most gymnasts do not start extremely young. Eaker is still working out her skills and her SRLs have improved a great deal since videos of her routine first surfaced.
I like them both. Olga Korbut was incredible for her time, and did some very innovative skills, and her gymnastics was very elegant and had good rythym. One of my favourite things about Chinese gymnastics is their form, and when they perform well their gymnastics can be very graceful and clean. It's hard to compare an entire country and an individual, but they both have strengths that I love. The gymnastics today and the gymnastics of Olga's time are very different
@@azirbesim8844 That's such a hard one! Honestly I find Olga's gymnastics so charming to watch so it would go to her but only just. Nadia has such beautiful lines and clean gymnastics though, and I found her precision very impressive

Chinese gymnastics are the most fascinating of all the levels of difficulty and graceful in their routines are amazing and beautiful .
I don't know how they do it but damn Chinese gymnast make even the most difficult of skills look easy and absolutely elegant.
