This is the first video I've seen of you two and I've enjoyed it. It has been very fun and interesting. It's usuful to me hear your two accents at a time. And... it's so cute the way she looks at you :). Definitely, the normal way to greet someone in Spain is the two kisses, but not between two men. I only use the two kisses, with men, with my close relatives.
Hi guys, I'm Benjamin from Spain and the way we greet is: 2 kisses between girl-girl, boy-girl, boy-boy depends of the relative, but the most of the times is hand shake. But if the guy is from your family is 2 kisses. Between good friends is hug. Formal greet is hand shake. And the real problem with the 2 kisses happens when you go to greet a italian girl, because in Italy they give the 2 kisses right-to-left and Spanish people give it left-to-right check soooo if you put together that situation: Boom! you find the girl and the guy go to kiss to the same part, i.e, they find themselves kissing the lips of the other. Love your videos! Great work! And thank you. 2 Kisses to both of you ;p
Im from Spain and in my experience I didn't see any boy giving 2 kisses to other boy, they always greet with hand shake, hug or fist bump, never kisses...
I really like this difference of culture between people. For us Brazilians, I think it's a bit difficult to give people just a handshake because we have the habit of giving a hug and a kiss even when we meet a person for the first time, being a very warm greeting always

I'm from Argentina. Here you can give a kiss to someone who you don't know, actually we do that all the time. THANKS FOR THIS CONVERSION. It's really useful for me to listen your accents.
We oftenly greet people we dont know or we know by saying just As salam Alaikum...(peace be unto u),its the most beautiful greeting of the world which is used worldwide without any confusion of how to greet...
I'm learning english and having fun at the same time. Congratulations for your job, it's really nice. The conversations with Kate are my favorite videos. I miss her!
You are so sweet guys😍 I say hello , and I introduce myself when I meet someone new. It’s not easy to start a conversation when I don’t know the person. I hesitate a bit, but I say something related to situation we are in. For example I joined in a meeting at my kids’ school. I met with the other parents. I introduced myself one of the parents and asked her that ‘ Are you happy with the school’ because our kids have just started to school Thank you so much for your useful, fun videos💐
Thank you guys a lot. The back and forth part of the story was really funny. When we greet people that we've never met before it depends on situation. I think the best way is to say just ''Hi, I am ...'' and smile. Just small talk about the things that are around you at the moment. For instance yesterday I was at the supermarket , I came up to the basket of tomatoes to pick up some. There was a woman who had the same intention so she smiled and gave me a tomato saying, '' seems like this is a nice one'' ''Thank you,'' I replied, smiled back to her and took the tomato.
I like the interaction between you two where you talked about Kate’s in car voice, make me smile 😊. And I am not easy to feel comfortable in front of people who are unfamiliar, so I guess I will just smile as greeting.

Love the relaxed but very informative video! Just to comment on the Spanish greetings between two men: if they know each other well they may do the double kiss, especially in a more informal setting. They would at least they tend to hug. In business, unless there is a close 'out of work' relationship, it's more likely to be handshakes. With woman-woman or man-woman, the double kiss can be used even in business, but if in doubt, I tend towards the handshake. You can avoid those awkward accidental on-the-lips kisses by remembering that you should go to the other person's right first. Most Spanish people will automatically do this, but do bear in mind that non-natives may not realise and still go to the wrong side!
I´m really happy because I understood almost the whole conversation! .. In my ountry it's very common to greet someone you don't know with a simple "Hi" or wishing them a good day/noon/night. Then you can ask them for something about a current situation at that time! It's very easy!!... Keep it up, Jack! you rock! grettings from Venezuela
In my country and in our İslamic culture, we usually don't shake hands among men and women, just simple Hi and greeting, and for breaking the ice we can ask about the names, talk about the weather etc.. Thanks for the nice lesson ❤️
Hi I am from Greece. Here the way of greet people depends on the situation. The most common is to shake hands for formal or informal situations. Usually between friends shake hands and double kisses is also common. Specially between a man and a woman who introduce themselves for the first time under informal situations the duble kiss is acceptable and very common.
Hello Jack from Barcelona. In Spain, we always say "hello" with two kisses, one on each cheek even if it is the first time, perhaps the only exception is when the person is old. I have to tell you that one of my best friends is English, living in Barcelona for over 15 years and still when we meet and I give her two kisses I feel like a small invisible barrier between us, very difficult to define, In any case, I love her very much.
we are used to smile and nod when we pass each other in China.we shake hands with each other when we meet each other for the first time.if i haven't seen a friend for a long time,we would hug each other.we always say hello to break the ice.
great conversation Jack. When I greet people that I don't know. I just smile and say hi or say "salam" in my country (Morocco) and for breaking the ice I can ask them about the weather or something around us.
I'm very excited to talk about this topic . when I see a stranger , I would greet people by a usual shake hands . in general , we don't usually interact with other people , I think we often interact on the internet like Facebook or intergram . it's extremely great , if you know how to use it . my hometown is quite busy because my hometown has the largest industry in my country. It's not a beautiful places but in my perspective . my hometown is the best
Hello Jack and Kate, how are you? I love when you make video together, keep doing it! Here in Brazil, specifically in São Paulo we greet people with a kiss and sometimes a kiss and a hug, I think that in the most part of Brazil we greet almost like that.

In Spain, I feel like the most common way to greet each other is the 2 kisses, between men that are friends I've seen the "back pats" and friendly handshakes more tho (not firm handshakes). In formal situations the handshakes are the most appropiate for everyone. It may change a bit depending of where exactly in Spain you are.
Hii! Yes! It's very common in Spain to greet with a double kiss, but if two men are greeting each other they shake hands, it's more common to see that than giving between them a double kiss! A greeting from Spain!!! :D
Really enjoyable conversation! In Spain shakehands between men and kisses between women is common. Hug between men depends on their familiarity (it's the same when it comes to hug or kisses man-woman, but nowadays is quite usual the two-kisses greeting man-woman as long as it's not a very formal situation --interview job for example--. Saying "Hello" to someone you don't know while walking in the street is not usual in big cities (like Barcelona), but not unusual in little villages. Whenever I go hiking in the mountain and I come across somebody on a path through the woods or reaching a summitt I greet them. Greeting sometimes depends on numbers!
