Hi Edward, thank you for posting all these wonderful mic comparison videos. The texture and sometimes raspy character in your singing really helps with noticing the differences between mics. I have litteraly spent days carefully watching a whole lot of your videos (and also some by Podcastage which are also good) to help me decide today on which mic I think I need and ordered me a (drumroll....) TLM 103 by Neumann as the winner around the 1000 euro pricetag mark. Thanks again for being extremely helpful, your videos really stand out. Subbed! Cheers!
Its been a 2 years since I have the mk4 it's sound beefy with a decent smooth sibilance in highs. i don't regret buying it. Actually i research alot before i came with it😊 Neumann sound in cheap price
Great review, and amazing vocals as always! Also, thanks for pointing out that the MK4’s shock mount is interchangeable with the TLM 102’s, which can save people some $$$
Cheap and expensive mics are the same depending on the singer if the voice is not good, then whatever mic you want to use is still not good in the ears,I use a Sennheiser Mk4 and it is quite enough for a home studio like me
the mk4 is a solid choice within that budget. bought it last year and would even buy it today if i needed a mic. it has all u need. the c214 is also rly good but more in that type of budget if you could stretch it, buy it, if u did not want to stretch... the mk4 all day long. good video and i guess the mk4 punches above it weightclass. for me it sounds better as the sony mic... if u would not throw it into that mix, the sony mic is also still good. i love to see that u can get great audio for smaller budget... sure its not "a budget" mic but worth every cent and by all means... if u not a high end pro music ingeneer... this is all u need.
I believe the MK8 which is the multi-patterned version of the MK4 is basically a Neumann TLM 107 and that cost $1500. The specs of the MK8 and TLM 107 are identical. You're not going to get this level of quality control in most mics in this price range. It's definitely a more affordable way to get into the Neumann manufacturing and sound.
As a hip-hop fan, c80 just sounds like family cause a lot of people record on the c800g lol😂 But I've just noticed that it has a much louder noise floor than most of the mics you've tested. So I think the akg and the Sennheiser is a much better choice if you intend to sing quietly or with a quiet instrumental. Great video as always!🔥
C214 sounded the best but I think the MK4 is next in line with the Sony C80 being surprisingly behind these. If you're wanting a warmer sound I think C214 takes it. Great review!🔥
The Sennheiser is a good sounding microphone, but unfortunately it is not good-looking and other microphones also sound good and look better. That's why I chose the Austrian audio OC16.
@@EdwardSmithMusic Right now, the Donner DC-87 is at $79. Im thinking of using the mic to record my guitars and voice. Im asking you because your opinion matters a lot to me. I have my Presonus and Beyerdynamic because you recommended them, and I love them. Love your content 💯 greetings from Colombia bro
Seems like the Senheiser has a warmer sound, which might also be because it does not have the Spike in frequency response in the 10k - 15k range. Have you eq-ed the senheiser on the demos to compensate this?
214 es el mejor en estra prueba más cálido y más rechazo de ambiente, pero está prueba está mal hecha, está cantando fuera del eje.. y son tomas diferentes todas...
Commend you for showing the frequency responses, lol. Thought it was a completely shill shitshow channel hustling every microphone on the market. Frequency response, self noise, and sensitivity specs can eliminate large majority of microphones.
If the MK4 wasn't so ugly and badly designed it would had been one amazing mic. Too bulky. As far as I know thet get produced in the same factories Neumann produces theirs.
Sony sounded pretty good on your voice 🥷
Very harsh sound.

Thanks for helping me pick a microphone dude. channel is super useful to the public
Thank you for watching!! Appreciate you 🫡

Yeah the MK4 is great I regret giving it up for a AT4033a

Yeah, the C214 is hard to beat. Thanks for watching this one 🙏🏻
@@EdwardSmithMusic Absolutely!
I have yet to find a sennheiser microphone that sounds bad. Try a 441, it’ll blow your mind with solid (preferably vintage transformer) preamp.
Forget These. Check out the oc16 by Austrian Audio
Would the wa-8000 be a drastic upgrade on the mk4?
Been having the mk4 for a while.
Thanks in advance 💯
Yes. The WA-8000 is definitely a step up. It's actually on my list for the 10 best mics to buy this Black Friday... video dropping on Friday btw haha
@EdwardSmithMusic For sure bro, I'll be on the lookout for that video, new subscriber here.. thanks👍🏻
Thanks for making these videos sir.

Görünümü bence güzel kibar kişiden kişiye değişir
Compare Sennheiser mk4 vs lct 440 pure please ❤️👍
I have an MK4. Tell me why it has a k67 capsule????
Could someone please help me with this question: Donner DC87 vs. Audio-Technica AT2020, which one is better if I can get both at a very similar price?
Hi. At the $100 price tag, have you considered the MA-67?

the Sony sounds More smooth which is a good thing for vocals
Hey Edward! Here's a newbie in search of analogue gear for his mixbus. Would love your views on the same!

What guitar melody is that in the intro
Wait, DOES it come with the shock mount? Everywhere I've looked, even Sennheiser's own page for the MK4, says it doesn't.
It depends with the option availability
It is literally TLM 101
TLM 101? There’s no such mic
@akg.69 I mean, this Sennheiser is like a Neumann TLM 102, only one line lower
have rode nt1 4th gen black but now 440 pure or do i go all the way to a TLM 103
i eu pensava que esse pop filter era para usa na diraçao da boca, mais é para o olho kkkk
first

Rode NT usb mini vs lewit LTC- 240 pro

It uses a sennheiser capsule from their handheld condenser
Bence şekli güzel
