You are a Human Being. You must be true to yourself, and accept yourself as you are. God IS with you, and You must rely on Christ strength, not your own efforts. The flesh profits nothing.
I too have gone through the road that you are on now. 60 years old, single, no children, and yes dealt with the sex drive that is in every human being. You are being too hard on yourself. You are not alone on this road, and you WILL come through it.

Francis identifies an important issue in religious communities. Children are brought up and adopt their parents beliefs and have yet to have their beliefs tested and jump straight into the seminary. Not yet proven true lovers of God but holders to the tradition of family. I myself came from a nonreligious family. Feeling that my life was more than living as an intelligent "animal" I kept a part of my heart open to God and spent years in many Protestant sects. The Baptists, the Navigators, and 7 years in the ICOC which is an abusive Church of Christ group (worst 7 years of my life). I am far from holy but there was God always in the background. By a miracle I married a Catholic and went through RCIA in a progressive parish. Ten years later I concluded that there were serious problems in the RCC. Last year I started attending the SSPX. My 40 years in the desert isn't for everyone, but it provided for me the understanding that a person's holiness (love of God) is not judged only by having a huge family with children in the seminary (Mary Magdalen for example - super close to Jesus). This type of measuring can actually be a source of Pride which is the sin God hates. Actually the poor guy in the back whose family has turned against him but has the conviction to stand firm is more likely to be the holiest one in the chapel (I can only hope :) ). Each person is tested by God in very unique ways to see if he truly loves him. My story is not finished. No one's story is finished until they meet God face to face and they find out if they have been a true lover of God. Francis you are in my prayers.

You have a very weird story with the SSPX. Because in my experience with them as well as other trads, I was never pressured to become a priest or have noticed any propaganda of them to younger ppl to become priests or religious. On the contrary, I’ve been taught to just be the person God wants me to be and to be myself. Idk how you
got to this kind of point, but what I can say is my experiences are the complete opposite of yours.

I've often said "With God, all things are possible...but not probable". When you said "...the more devotion I show, the more help I'll get"....I laughed out loud. When I was younger that was my exact thinking. Of course help never came. I also remember "Whatever you shall ask of the Father in My Name, He will give to you". Yeah...right!!! And then there is Divine Mercy Sunday. "If anyone puts forth even the smallest of efforts to come to Me that day, I'll do the rest". I had many obstacles that were trying to prevent me from getting to a church that day, but after overcoming the struggles, I finally made it, only to find the door locked. Well, so much for "I'll do the rest". "Powerful" prayers to obtain favors, or prayers "never known to fail".....the Memorare"......"that never was it known.....was left unaided". Well, I can think of one. After a long time, I gave up on those prayers too. Over the years I found that nothing works and I've been left very disillusioned and have lost a lot of belief and faith. Now days, I just do the best I can and let the rest go. I'm no longer holding my breath for a god that never responds. Through it all, I'm still thankful for my own seminary training. It offered me adventures that I would never have had otherwise. I'm thankful for your efforts to produce these videos. They shed light on a "taboo" subject that many of us are being helped to see. You articulate the subject matter very well and have been able to describe things that I could only feel. Without being aware of it, it seems that we both have walked down much of the same path in life. Stay strong and keep the videos coming.

Hi Francis, a note on the issue of masturbation. I understand your struggle. It was a habit of mine for a long time since I was very young. I have stopped for several years now. I will not appeal to moral theology, but from the standpoint of long-term health, masturbation leads to numerous complications with the nervous system, such as involuntary ejaculations, or chronic fatigue and mood disorders, etc. No judgement, but these are the dangers with the activity, especially if it becomes habitual.

Why should anyone be surprised that young gay Catholic men would decide to become priests? I've known many straight Catholics who felt s vocation, but couldn't bear the prospect of life without sex, marriage or children. Well their choice is perfectly acceptable within the church: marriage to a women and having children is also an acceptable vocation. Now consider the perspective of a young gay Catholic, even or maybe especially those who don't yet recognize or accept their same sex attractions. When weighing priesthood or marriage, they may erroneously feel a calling precisely because they don't feel the overwhelming urge towards sex with a woman that a straight Catholic feels. What they may not realize is that the unwelcome sexual urge they feel towards and which they are praying will go away, will NOT go away and repressed sexual urges tend to just become stronger. Or consider a young gay Catholic who who fully recognizes and accepts his same sex urges. If he is a serious Catholic who wants to respect the faith and the doctrine, same sex marriage and any form of sexual "congress" with another man is forbidden, not only does joining the priesthood seem like one of his few legitimate options but he may harbor hope that God will reward him by taking away his same sex attraction.

Francis I have a question. What is the point of the Judas Project? Are you hoping to help others by it who may have gone through or are experiencing similar experiences or difficulties and perhaps will be enlightened or find hope in your struggles? If that's not it then is it to try and justify what you did and what your doing, although this would be against the point because you feel you did the right thing and are doing the right thing so nothing needs justifying. Perhaps it is because you need to justify yourself to others since obviously in your own mind you are at peace with it all but it's that desire to be understood and accepted by others. Are you helping yourself or wanting to help others. These are real questions and I hope you will answer them. Do you remember the time you were standing there and the bone the leg bone broke and the cracking sound it made and you shuddered and felt the crack to the depths of your soul, I remember you standing there and the look on your face while you half hid behind that car!

Having watched this video I believe that it wasn't God's will calling you to become a Catholic Priest but your own will. Discernment to a religious vocation should be recognised by the Church, this is correct However, we too play a vital part in our own discernment process. To say that it was the Catholic Priest who directed you to make the choice is not completely true because God has provided all humankind with 'freewill' for us to make our choices in our lives. Nobody has forced you to believe in God, you made that choice by the freewill which the Lord gives us. Just as you have made the choice to walk away and live a pagan life.
Also, the Catholic Church teaches about the virtue of Prudence. Which is fundamental to have when we discern where God is calling us. We have been created by God to be prudent in our lives in order to follow his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ with obedience of faith in him alone. Remember that Matthew 16:24 of the Holy Scriptures proclaims that we should deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow our Lord Jesus Christ.
Finally the Catholic Church doesn't teach Homosexuality to be a sin. The sexual actions of homosexuals and heterosexuals (unless for the reason to procreate) are sinful to God and his Church. A true Catholic is obedient in their faithfulness regardless of their human desires.
St. Paul has professed that 'When I am weak, then I am strong in Christ Jesus', which means God shall provide us with the fortitude to continue walking in our faith. Hopefully, God willing, you shall return in obedience of following the Lord Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth. To deny God is very grave matter for any Christian who has received the Lord Jesus Christ. May God provide you with mercy and grace, for he loves you more than you shall ever know. God Bless.

It is so sad that people love a religion so much that they do not want to accept the true of how the people who suppose to teach them of God and here their confession are sinners like them with no real power to forgive those sins that lead people to hell. Please lets put our eyes on Jesus the real person (God) who can forgive sins. It is sad but the Roman Catholic church has cover the sins of its Popes, Bishops and Priest for centuries. Even when it comes out in the media people are so naived that they will not accept the reality of how the religion is practice and its representatives act. I know it happens in other religion but people in other churches and religion when they found out do not put up with abuse and they are not so eagle to protect the abuser or the sinner who may not want help. Catholicism is like a cult using itellectualism to rationalize wrong behaviors, explain practice of traditions not found in the Bible and many other Mysticism (new age) which has nothing to do with Jesus Gospel of the early church started by Jesus and his 12 apostoles. I was born in the Catholic religion and did communion at 7 years of age when in most or all churches in 1969 the whole mass was in Latin. I was told to repeat religious words that I had no understanding and as a child found the whole mass boring and frighten since the big churches and cathedrals were dark inside and most use the light of candles as their electricity. This day most converts from other denomination who become theologian are the one making Catholicism the religion of salvation and the true one. They put in paper what sound piety, nice and what they learned in Protestant churches that stay very close to the religion of Jesus. But in reality the history of the church after the first 200 hundreds went down hill. Unfortunately as the church conquer or evangelize other nation; cultural and traditions not found in the Bible were added and interpreted as true and necessary for salvation. It takes a lot of study not only religion from reading the early fathers and church history to none religion history true the centuries to understand the errors and practice or the Roman Catholic Church. I am proud of you Francis for telling the true in honesty. God Bless You all!

I’m so sick of the disgusting and blightedly ignorant bigotry against gay people, against LGBTQ people.
The Lord has never spoken out against gay love. Only mangled-in-translation Bible passages are against gay love.
God made homosexuality, and it is clear why:
    1. Homosexuality greatly increases the love paradigm humans can form. More love is better.
    2. Homosexuality breaks down the falsehoods of religion. The Catholic Church of today was made in AD 330, one portion of which dates to AD 200. The Catholic Church does not speak for God, and the Catholic oppression of gays snaps us out of the falsehoods. Same for Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Muslims, Hindus, etc.
    3. Homosexual couples open up opportunities for many very needed adoptions.
Masturbation is beautiful and so healthy. Love is beautiful. Serve God and love rather than judging.
    Former Priest, you’re my hero!
