You made some very important points and I really appreciate the way you explained the reasons for every position you presented. You're a smart guy and Texas is a better place because of people like you. I'm a retired veterinarian with a career dealing with wildlife and I wish there were more like you in every state. Thanks for making this video and posting it for us.
Yeah Texas needs more people blasting ground bound birdie to smithereens. Let's be ate rather animals who survive on other animals and not mention the people who scatter buckshot into their birdie asees for fun
@@barneygimble8984, I do not personally know this conservationist who presented this material, but he certainly knows how to improve the habitat of quail. Plus, I don't believe anyone uses buck shot on birds. I don't understand your thoughts. I believe you said we should be eating only predators, not animals that are herbivores. Is that your point?
@@richardrobertson1331 My pont is He wants to improve the habitat and increase the quail population..only to blast the little birds with BIRD shot. The factor in the equation that damages the quail habitat and population is the jerk with the gun. If you removed the jerk with the gun from the equation the quail habitat and population would improve dramatically
@@barneygimble8984, hunters are predators, just like coyotes, racoons, fox, snakes, feral cats, hawks, etc. Hunters, at least, are limited by "seasons" and "bag limits" unlike other predators. Feral cats, for example, will kill an entire clutch of baby quail along with their parents, and may eat only one. It has been my experience to increase the quail population in my area one must reduce the feral cat population. I'm not a hunter nor am I a vegetarian, so I see a place for the hunting community. For two years I lived in an urban community that had few cats and I was able to increase the population of quail in my yard to 47. They would visit twice every day to eat and nap in the back yard. I made a video about that experience and it's on You Tube titled "Free Ranging Quail". Are you a vegetarian?
