    I've been saying this for years. just go back to the Dallas Cowboys last two playoff games, both were vs GB, 2014, and 2016. the officials can determine the outcome of games now, And they can determine a teams season by setting thier schedule to a certain difficulty.

    It’s kinda funny to hear 4 guys who are not concussion experts discussing severity of hits and concussions like they are experts.

    I might be wrong but didn't these rules come about because the football union was complaining about the brain injuries from former players?

    Problem is we don’t know how much damage happens even if it’s not a true concussion

  • @michaelohara9004

    The point about players trying to hide it when they get concussed/hit in the head, is a good one. Like when you see Julian Edelman get his bell rung in some brutal collisions, and he jumps straight back up to try to show he's not concussed. There are times I've seen him concussed for sure, but because he gets up and continues the play he doesn't get taken out of the game.
    As a fan of football, I want to see the star players like Cam and Edelman (obviously not as big a star) in the game. Being overly sensitive about safety and concussions could lead to more players hiding the true nature/severity of injuries.

    Why is nobody talking about Kelce fumbling? The hit where he got knocked out he fumbled the ball after the hit and was a clear runner..

      xJoe16- Because it did not lead to points, and K.C. had not only the Mariota Fumble whistle blown too soon, but also the 2 point conversion as well. Refs botched it plain and simple. Not a K.C. fan either.

    I don't think the players get to have it both ways. As much as Cam Newton might have wanted to continue playing, the Panthers organization, and the NFL itself has liability issues that they have to think of. In a UFC match, yes, you continue fighting after you've gotten your "bell clocked"... But not for long. Usually, you end up getting knocked out just a few moments later. Also, don't fighters sign waivers? Are NFL players willing to sign waivers?

  • @ness1860
    @ness1860 6 лет назад

    They talk about how they should just let them play the game and not worry about player safety. I get what they're saying but the NFL has to be shown to do something or they are going to face another multi-million (or billion) dollar lawsuit from players. If the players want to get back to "competition" and not worry about safety so much because this is a combat sport, then they need to stop suing the NFL.
    To be clear, I don't have a problem with the lawsuit, but you can't have it both ways.

    This guy lost his mind. The fat guy, talking about playing through concussions. There's definitely technology that can be used to measure impacts, that should be considered.

  • @ZombieLegacy
    @ZombieLegacy 6 лет назад +5

    Cam Newton couldn’t walk off the field without falling over. If it was a minor eye thing, he would’ve been able to walk to the sideline and deal with it there. But he collapsed trying to walk off the field. He should’ve been pulled immediately until cleared from Concussion protocol. Violating that should result in a monetary fine and loss of draft pick. I understand that this is an important game, but player safety is the main issue the NFL is dealing with right now, and allowing players to play through concussions only makes things worse. After all, these guys are human beings who will have a life after football, at least if they aren’t mentally incapacitated.
    P.S. There’s a huge difference between “Contact” Sports and “Combat” Sports.

      CamMcCoy87 big difference kid. One is specifically trying to bring physical harm. In fact your judged on it. How is that hard to understand? Smh

    • @psd.3144
      @psd.3144 6 лет назад

      Zech Rojas there is a difference but in boxing the goal is to land the most clean shots, not to injure anyone. Injury is uncommon and the ref or doctor can stop or pause fights whenever they see fit. mma isn't judged on hurting someone either as far as I know.

    Did we forget the $765M settlement the NFL paid in the ex-players concussions suit? Of course they [NFL] will press the concussion issue to protect themselves. I don't blame them. Player safety is #2 after the bottom line.

  • @williamscott4674
    @williamscott4674 6 лет назад

    Concussion protocol doesn't impact live play and needs to be followed full stop
    Protect the players from themselves or the sport will end
    If taking a knee came from the sideline to game the system then they should pay the price of missing the player a few plays

  • @ramsicle
    @ramsicle 6 лет назад

    When the team you expect to win, loses, we start to highlight all the reasons how they lost. You say the officials are killing the game by over officiating, but the game has changed now. Yes player safety is paramount, due to the concussion rule. Players committing suicide, complaining about headaches, families destroyed due to abuse from players in retirement, all this pointed to the head knocks taken in the game. Something had to be done or the game could end up in high court!..

    Whitlocks argument about football compared to mma and boxing is flawed. In boxing and mma your ultimate goal is to knock the other guy out or chock him out. Disconnect him from consciousness. In football the goal is to score points not hurt people. Thats the biggest difference

    Did everyone just ignore the Kelce fumble too? It’s not like it only happened to KC.. TEN forced a clear fumble as well but that gets ignored.. why does the KC one only matter? Oh because 99% of these guys picked KC and they feel that was a moment that ruined their pick.. Tough.. Bad calls happen.. Give TEN some credit for going into KC and beating them FFS..
