Yes I have come across some items in stores that have 0 sugar in the ingredient breakdown box per serving. My kids always think that that is great until I do the carbs per teaspoon equivalent math for them and they are surprised by the results. The only problem is that many people have been programmed to believe that there is nothing wrong with carbs. We have been eating the wrong tips of carbs for so long that it has become a comfort food and part of our staple diet. We need to get away from that and start from scratch with the right pro and prebiotic enthused foods that will help our friendly gut bacteria thrive. Thank you for sharing this information with us Dr. Gundry.
Can someone please explain to me why he considers carbs as sugar? Are complex carbs also just sugars? I’m a bodybuilder and bodybuilders actually need lots of carbs to grow muscle so I’m not sure how to take this video… according to Mike Mentzer you need LOTS of carbs to grow muscles but he never specified whether to take simple or complex carbs
You are clearly asserting that net carbs in grams = sugar in grams. Presumably because carbs break down into forms of sugar. Is this distinction correct?
I love your videos! I happen to notice you said almost 9 grams of sugar in the cliff bar example....that defies your first example? You must have meant "almost 9 teaspoons"...right?? Everything I read about food labels says the "total sugar" is the real total of sugar in a serving. So, the 17g Total sugar stated on the label is really 35 grams? If what you're saying is true about using the carb number to calculate actual sugar amounts - then we've all been lied to on these food labels. I'm concerned and unsure now.
When it comes to combucha the surgar gets mostly used up i think in the fermenting proccess. Or are they showing sugar content after fermentation? I think not. Does anybody know the true answer?
This video should be required for health classes in middle schools and high schools.

I like Dr. Gundry, very honest.
Thanks for sharing this tip for calculating sugar!
Sugar equations:
(Carb - fiber)/ 4= Actual Total sugar amount.
Thx for the education😮
What a excellent Doctor!
Thank you Dr Gundry you are amazing again ❤
Thanks for the advice, Doc. Your dietary tips never cease to amaze me.
the most amazing thing is the food industry and how they trick and take advantage of people who do not read labels, that amazes me.
I learned how to find out how much sugar, thank you Dr. Gundry. ☺️🙏🏼
Thank you
Thank you!!
Someome doesn't seem to know the difference between sugar and carbohydrates...
I'd love to see the same example applies to Coconut, Almond and Pistachio Milks - you would be surprised how much sugar you drink every time
Lakanto monk fruit powder is mostly Erythritol😒
Hey Doc.... What about allulose? The carbs in them are the same as sugar

Why don't you look at the ratios of sugars to fats and sugars to protein?
There are NO sugar alcohols that my body tolerates, even in small amounts. This bar is a no-go.
You are clearly asserting that net carbs in grams = sugar in grams. Presumably because carbs break down into forms of sugar. Is this distinction correct?
How does this work with Allulose? 10g carbs, 0 fiber, 0 sugars

im not sure about the accuracy of this
all carbohydrates are NOT sugar

Good advice, but I might say instead…don’t look solely at just the sugar on the label.
Energy bar comes out to 9 teaspoon not Gramms. If you devide the total Gramm you get tsp. Not gramms again.
dark frame glasses day , versus blue or red frame glass; you are assuming all the carbohydrates are sugar.

❤❤
Based on what you are trying to say is that we cannot eat anything at all except meat and vegetables plus seeds.😂
As per usual, trying to sell us something 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you
