MXC ATV XC Racing - Rd3 Moto Loto - Sean Stratton 35+ Vet B - YFZ450R GoPro - 3rd Place Finish 🥉

PODIUM!! One hard fought 3rd place finish! MXC Racing 2024 Rd3. Fastest I've ever pushed on the last lap, geesh! MOTO LOTO riding park, next to Lake of the Ozarks. One killer track!!! Creeks, big hill climbs, fast flow, open GP sections, optional pro lines, lots of room to pass, few difficult areas, 10/10 for sure🔥 13th Overall of 78 racers! Got a good start, slow off the line but made up a few spots in the first corner, up to 2nd. 10 total in class, Six sport quads and four 4x4s. Couple roller jumps then a wide creek crossing before heading into the woods after a big hill climb, that I got stuck on lap 3 😅
Points leader Chad Pettus was 4th or 5th to the creek, but he is on a new 4x4 now after we had that awesome 30 minute battle at Round 1 where I got the win, and he was able to hit the deep section and pass me like a boss lol🤘 Right as I was going for the pass on 1st also. And, right as we both went for the pass, another 4x4 hit me from behind and almost flung me off the quad. BRAAAAP lol. Chad got around Tyler Burch by blasting through the second creek crossing for the lead then Tyler and I hung with him the entire first lap but we couldn't close the gap and make a pass on the leader. One awesome ride with Tyler tho, great high speed battle!!! There were also two gravel road crossings that we had to come to a complete stop at before crossing, which put a little bigger gap between us and the leader every time when we were right on his bumper.
I settled in for 3rd place with no one behind me, but that big hill climb on the start got wet and slippery with big rocks, got bounced off the trail towards the top, had to back all the way down backwards. Couple riders came up and waited, so I hit it again. But no traction again and got bounced off the trail again and rolled back into a tree. Then I noticed those two riders take off and hit a bypass section. That's when I realized this was a pro hill option the whole time haha. Got unstuck from the tree, started rolling backwards down again, hit another tree😂 got sideways and almost flippy flippy! Slid off the side of the quad to keep the weight low, somehow it didn't roll, got it turned around and headed down the hill, and it pop started itself for me right before the bottom so took off towards the bypass and kept on. For the record, the bypass was super sketchy at that point too! Quite a few broke down quads this race. Lost a lot of energy and time on that hill, then 4th Place Eric Wiethop caught me and passed me like I was standing still!!! Holy cow. He took off so fast I hardly tried to chase, I was exhausted. Then a few minutes later I saw a quad going around a stopped racer, then noticed it was Eric stopped, trying to start his quad again. So I passed him as fast as I could haha, right as he fired it back up.
Back to 3rd!!! I think I heard him revving to pass back but nahhhh sucka we are battling now!!! Was going to give it my all for a minute or two and see if he ran out of steam and gave up, but somehow I caught a second wind and kept the hammer down💪💪 Was riding a bit over my head but that's racin yee yee! Came through scoring hoping for checkered but race was still on. I didn't look for or see a white flag. Crossed that creek, said heck no to that big wet hill climb, hit the bypass, got to the top and didn't see Eric so thought I was good! Kept the hammer down just in case. But it's a looong bypass and I'm an idiot, Eric hit the hill and passed me and I never noticed. Until I saw his red quad up ahead after the next creek crossing. Glad I didn't let up! And I still had good energy somehow, so hammer down even more. Caught up to him as fast as I could and he let me by to my surprise. Track was getting rough in the challenging spots and he was still behind me so kept er full send and brought it home in 3rd! One wild last lap, one for the books!! Thanks for everyone's support!!! I noticed your check engine light came on when going through the water around 10:50 then went away. Any ideas why? Mine does the same thing.

Assuming from water getting in the engine, but not sure, didn't notice it. Thanks for pointing it out!! Quad ran great at the MX track the next weekend so hopefully good to go! #SENDIT!

@@XSMotorsports good deal. I had the same problem, but mine instantly went away after the water. I ran a race last weekend with no problems.... Just gonna hope it's good 😂
