Awesome ride on Flume trail with fabulous views of the lake. I've done the ride once. Uphill at elevation was rough! What a beautiful sunset! You & Bri had the best day with friends.
I haven't ridden the Flume in over 15 years. Honestly I never really thought I would again but after seeing your route it looks like a fun XC pedal. I've heard there is some fun stuff up above it as well that I haven't ridden.
Yes, it is a great XC ride! I have also heard great things about the trails above Marlette and then also the long downhill to carson city. Some day. Let me know if you ever head this direction and want to ride.
@@tahoemountainlife I’ve done Ophir Creek down to Carson City. Pretty sure it’s a video on my channel. It wasn’t all that good. I thought I was going to enjoy it more than I did.
Thanks for the info I will check that out for sure There is a separate trail called the capital to tahoe trail that was recommended to me that is closer to spooner lake.
The view of Sand Harbor Beach from that trail Spectacular! And the Thunderbird Lodge tour a Must See. Well worth the money. Take the Tahoe over the lake to the Lodge Beautiful! Enjoy your videos
Wow! Now this is something I have never done, but always wanted to do. But I’d have to take it at a much slower pace. And not as long of a ride. I’m getting older now, and I don’t think I could do it being I’m out of shape. The aspens were beautiful, must be a gorgeous site in the fall. What a great vacation you’re giving your pals from NZ. The thunderheads were huge from the foothills today and yesterday. I could hear the thunder rolling. They were beautiful and spectacular. Did you get much rain? Your dinner looked amazingly delicious!! What a great day you all had. The best with good friends. The sunset was just marvelous! Thanks for another great video.
Your skill is amazing Dan. Your friends are doing Tahoe to the hilt. They will need to have a vacation after their vacation. 😊. It’s hot here in the valley. Bet warm up there too. Thanks for the ride.
I can see why you and your friends from New Zealand are good friends------same interests in outdoor stuff. Got to be in shape to do what you do. And that was the best bike trail I've seen! I sometimes wondered if you sped up the footage because it seems you're moving so fast. Great time by all and thanks for posting.
An idea for the lunch get together, would be to offer some vendors that you recommend in your videos like the guide for the marlette Lake flume Trail ride let them buy a table to advertise their business and use that money to send to a charity that you support👍
For those from sea level the last part of the climb to Marlette can be a lung buster. Incredible overall ride though. Surprised there is any sand so early…..

We did for sure! The gravel road up to start was rough.

Suchca delight always to see the wonders of Tahoe 🤟 nice ride
Couldn't agree more!
Was a great ride back in 96 when I lived there. We had a mandatory drink at Woody's that was located near the end of ride! Cheers!
awesome!
@@tahoemountainlife is Woody's still there? Is that a thing still?
@@Marty-yc8ne I don't think so after a quick google search.

This was early June 2024.
Nice. I Was wondering if there was still snow on the Flume trail. I'll go ride it Sunday.
Thanks.

good idea! We will be away for the next 2-3 weeks so we look to have a get together sometime in July.
Just park at Spooner lake,,,
You could do that as well if you pre arrange a shuttle back to your car or the bike back would be a bit grueling.
@@tahoemountainlife no shuttle,,, I'm cheap 😂

yes that climb is a grunt! I know the sand is out early!
Great views Yes, but a pretty boring ride otherwise.
agreed but for those that don't want technical features it is perfect.
