What got me started in bonsai was digging trees out of my gardens and on the fence lines of the property. Potted them up in regular pots and left them potted for several years while I learned the basics of bonsai through some books and practiced on cheap sale trees from box store nursaries. 2 years ago was my first larger collected tree and is doing well. Tried my first air layer last year and was successful with that.

An idea: why not 'collect' wild trees - yamadori - with a camera? Beginners and experienced alike can go outside and find beautiful trees with lots of character to inspire and guide them. Thank you for this video: paradise IS in our own area!
there are some...but honestly, i think that what happens is peope get excited...its very exciting to find a nice yamadori, and so they completely forget to record the process...just a theory...
