    A man from my city gave me 2 beautiful ram's horns and asked me to make him a resolza with them, and the rest of the horns will be mine for free. it isn't perfect, also because i don't really like working on this kind of knives, the main reason is that here there are so many knifemakers that makes resolza that if i start to make them i will be just a drop in the ocean. i prefer to make knives with my original design

    Make whatever you make to be the best you've ever seen and you won't have to worry about your reputation. Don't avoid traditional forms when need or desire to use them arises. A form becomes traditional when the knife is made to work, not look pretty. Hence they are all little lessons in how functional knives cut and cut well.

    Your video was in my "daily proposals" and I'm glad it was. Good job mate :) Reminds me of an Opinel knives, but if it's traditional knife type of Sardinia then I think it's much older than Opinel itself. Very enjoyable to watch :) Regards from Poland! Greg

    И изначально когда рукоять клепал и поставил на стяжку нужно было вставки по толщине клинка поставить. Тогжа бы клин не сдавливало.
    И ход лучше делать более кубический так открываться будет фиксировано.

      Grazie mille! Infatti molta gente non sa neanche la storia del coltello sardo, e pensano che i coltelli che ci sono oggi siano frutto di tradizione, quando invece ogni famiglia di coltellinai ha portato modifiche personali, in alcuni casi facendo nascere altri tipi di coltello

    Gabrulo. Really nice work. I am a beginner knife maker from Perth Western Australia. You have given me inspiration. I can't afford all the flash expensive machinery you see in other knife making videos and you have just shown me what you can make with a bit of enginuity and what you have in the workshop. Keep it up. You have a new subscriber. I hope you don't mind if I copy your idea of the belt sander and the band saw.

      @Gabrulo_knifemaking  8 years ago +1

      Hi! Thanks a lot for the sub amd support! I have to suggest you also to see the videos that inspired me to make my tools! Check "Made in Poland" channel and the video "drill hack 1 metal cutting bandsaw" and the channel "Jörgen Börg" with the video "IMPROVED! Best Extrem Beltsander you've seen" cause they gave me the inspiration to make those tools! Unfortunately i dismantled the bandsaw cause it was shaking to much, but the project is good, i just built it not so precisely, but as you will see from the made in Poland video it works!

      +Julio Cavalera sorry i don't know, i don't try yet the forge weld, but i don't think it is possible to weld those materials, they must be just steel

    • @juliocavalera9293
      @juliocavalera9293 8 years ago

    • @Toontownluver1041
      @Toontownluver1041 7 years ago +1

      Suggestion, you can forge the different metals. The critical part is getting them up to welding temperature. My suggestion is use a canister method. A metal box filled with the materials to weld and sealed at the ends. Heat it to a high enough temp then use a press to force them together. Then either cut or grind off the exterior canister material. Makes absolutely beautiful patterns.

      That's something i want to try, but i have to double up the forge power, cause now is not powerful enough
