@diyupholsterysupply To be specific, we use the plastic 1 gallon ice cream tubs with the handles. Usually have 2 or 3 sitting around for when I walk to another side of the piece I'm working on.
When testing for staples that have broken off, YOU DO NOT USE YOUR BARE HANDS. Use a tool such as pliers or staple puller and run that across the wood so you don't shred your fingers and get blood everywhere. We use a bucket to put our staples in, not the floor.
I strongly suggest a razor blade in a handle. The snap off kind work well; I think they are called box cutters. Perhaps you should have fixed the squeak before you started reupholstering.
@TroyDBeMe I totally agree. I would be ashamed to let a piece go out that wasn't fully stripped. Not to mention very agrivating when we have to come behind someone that didn't bother to do a complete job. So now we have to do theirs too.
you know what i dont get ??? Why dont you use a pair of pincers to remove the staples and the fabric in the corners if you take with the pincer a thick piece of fabric in the corner you can pull a lotta fabric of it at ones and a lotta staples with it... i know that would work 90% better then you do now... sorry just a tip
Those of you who know more than this gentleman why not do your own RUclips and leave him alone. Geez! Thanks for your detailed info
