Seeing Phil's name, and especially hearing his powerful vocal range, always gets me excited! One of my top 10 favorite voice actors of all time! I'm delighted you got a chance to have the voice of Hector Con Carne himself on the show, Korey!
Too bad he cries victim despite being a very successful, wealthy black man...
The artificial intelligence and intellectual property conversation was so good. I wish it were longer
The legend himself
Wow, never thought I’d get to see this. I’m a massive Samurai Jack and Double Toasted fan so this is a dream come true for me. Amazing interview as always, Korey. Would love to see an interview with Genndy someday, I think you’d have some really interesting questions as someone with a background in animation
Thank you!
Phil is VO Legend, my earliest memory was watching him on Mad tv. Then I was Pulp Fiction later and He would go on to be on Futurama, and Justice League as my Favorite Green Lantern. Yes there is much more like Samurai Jack and Static Shock but there is just so much to list off. He is always a great interview.
This by far the best interview I've had the pleasure of watching. Phil Lamarr is a legend of legends💯
Thank you!
Another banger of an interview, with insane chemistry. Your laugh is contagious brother 🤣 can't wait for the next one Korey! fantastic job again.
I grew to be so familiar with this guy that I remember recognizing him on the train scene from Spider-Man 2.
I loved him as Static and Hermes. Great interview
Phil LaMarr did an awesome job voice acting as Geras in Mortal Kombat 1
Phil LaMarr is an absolute legend! Glad he's still getting consistent voice work with Geras in MK1 and Invincible season 2. Dope interview
0:02 I thought the same thing when Korey played the clip 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣.
Aye got a heart from DT 😎.
He should do Cree Summer next.
Like Phil said, he is already popular and recognized but imo, not commensurable to how talented he is. In an ideal world, he should be a way bigger name. Big fan from his Mad TV days.
He may not be an A-lister, but his talents and work ethic is as prized as any big name actor for being dependable and popular among fans and directors and staff.
I once saw Phil Lamarr walking thru comic con no one bothering him it was amazing
Right!!
Mr. Lamarr is hands down a Legend. Samurai Jack, Static Shock and Justice League are my childhood.
Phil Lamar is a legend in our generation no cap
Phil played Rick James on Mad TV 😭😂 LEGENDARY !!
I wish Korey would have ask Phil what was in the brief case in Pulp Fiction.
Can’t wait for this. I was just thinking you haven’t posted an interview in awhile. Love your interviews.
7:24 - That look right there was Phil LaMarr dropping some knowledge on ya. Ya'll know what I mean. 🤔😉
11:57 - "The principal of acting -- Any actor should be able to play any role they can BELIEVABLY bring to life." This is why Scarlett Johansson playing Major Kusunagi or Emma Stone in Aloha fell flat on their face when they tried to explain their reasoning -- She forgot the other half of that statement.
Phil LaMarr is the GOAT, I know him thanks to Samurai Jack and has a been voicing characters in the DC Animated Universe.
Phil laMarr has played so many iconic characters in many tv shows and games,I remember his role as Erol and Sig from the Jak and daxter series
Wow, awesome! This is one of my favorite actors since MadTV days! Love your interviews!
Ran into Phil outside of a hotel in Vancouver once… I damn near freaked out when I heard his voice he’s such a nice dude really down to earth!
great watch. what a down to earth guy.
Korey is a very good interviewer.
Such a great video! Always loved him as Samurai Jack and grew up to realize he's been all over as a VA.
Also love the insight on the struggle of minority VA, etc. !
Next time y'all got ask some Justice League questions! That's John Stewart!!!!
I really enjoyed his work on MadTV. I actually liked it more than SNL during that era.

Your perspective and questions always are interesting. And I'm happy that you had the opportunity to interview such a wonderful and talent guy

Hell yeah, thanks DT for this interview, I wasn't expecting to see the legend himself Phil Lamarr, but very welcoming nonetheless.
Dope ass interview! Love the DT crew and Phil!
This was dope 👊🏿🔥❤️
He’s so cool and such a nice person. I last saw him at the Brooklyn Comic-Con. I taken a photo op picture with him but to my dismay I had lost my phone with the photo 😢.
Sorry to hear that.
Phil Lamarr is so cool man. He takes a lot of consideration to the roles he plays, and it shows. He might just be popular in his mind, but hes definetly earned a rank amongst The Legends of Voice acting.
Straight up skilled and self-aware.
Phil was my childhood what a dude man
He's been a household name for my whole life
such a well thought out discussion. i love his passion!
Mr Lamar is living legendary performer. i always look forward to seeing him im anything

I’m here because of Vamp in Metal Gear Solid 2 & 4
I know him as Vamp from metal gear solid 2
I hope you guys are actually listening to this interview because Phil LaMarr gave a lot of great explanations. Its fun to have fun yes but also be open to learning from him at times too. That what makes Phil so cool. overall
If I did not know he was a VA, I would say "Wow, he has a great voice, he should try voice acting".
When I think of Phil Lamarr, I think of Mad TV ☺️🙂😃
I don’t know anything about samurai Jack or static shock, but that is Marvin from pulp fiction to me
Phil, Keith and Cree❤️🖤💚
Love him!
"Professor! Sprinkle us with wisdom from your mighty brain! How scared should we be? Somewhere between not at all and entirely?"

i hate it when movie actor gets a voice over role when there are real voice actors available
18:02 Authenticity only starts to matter when “majority” people are losing jobs.
