When you say you aren't keeping the XP...Does that mean that you're just doing it to show that it's possible then resetting to a prior state when the quest is incomplete, or directly modifying your save through some save editor to make it so that you didn't gain any XP?

The former is generally how these go.
After each fight, I load my save to a prior state. I apologize for the confusion, I'll word that better in the future.
