- In the third of Click's special shows about the ways in which tech can help save the planet, we focus on construction - one of the biggest carbon emitters.
We look at efforts to rethink building from the ground up. In Sweden,
attempts are being made to manufacture CO2-free steel. In Finland, robots can help recycle building materials. And in Orkney, we witness the latest developments in making energy from sea waves

Thanks for visiting us in Luleå and showcasing our efforts for fossil-free steelmaking!
Thank you for sharing.
Where do the materials needed for this come from? What is the lifespan of these flexible rolls? Durability or how it handles different climates? How long until we can power all EV’s with solar, hydro, wind, geo, etc? Most charging stations now are using energy from coal and other fossil fuel plants to charge EV’s.
“Nerd Immunity” … that was a great line!
I love the click team. Watched all episodes
4:02 they are screen printing solar panels, never thought I would ever see that.
When talking about buildings I expected wood and straw instead of steel and concrete. Steel and solar windows check. But wave energy? Doesn't really fit, don't you think?
I am a great believer in renewable energy sources but the only thing that always concerns me is the initial install cost and longevity of all the necessary equipment requirements that goes with the install. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Agreed. Great ideas and keep em coming but can they scale? and in a very short time frame?
Been watching click for more than a decade now
I love the coverage of positive action against the climate emergency. I do wish for more financial and political support for these risky tech developments to push them mainstream even faster. Though at the same time we'd need more disincentives to those negative externalities of our extreme consumerist capitalist societies.
It would be interesting to know how much electricity the robots arms use along with the computers that control them ...
Much less than a human if you add up al the energy associated to our upkeep, think food, shelter, transportation,…. Robots require less resources and are more environmentally friendly than human workers.
@12:33 here we are seeing the very first generation of the Hypo spray from #Startrek
semi transparent also mean semi the power produced. good for windows but put proper flexible panels on the building itself.
The only problem with wave energy, is that, there are too many moving parts! ... literally and figuratively speaking! There's a reason solar energy has exploded around the globe
is the future on film.. noir...
Elon sold stock to pay "taxes" why do guys always miss that bit out? It makes you look bad to me 🤔
I'm asking if there is a software that a help of eye glass and hearing aids can see and listen sound of Jesus (angels) and devils (Damon's, evil) or a video camera software that both appeared? I have no credit USA card can you a help me ask or apply Microsoft HoloLens?
These are not physical and science does not deal with superstitions.
Elon musk needs to manufacture These solar panels, or the next Elon Musk.
Rubbish those who are fit for garbage divisions.
I have suggested that inmates process daily garbages to renewable resources.
Korean corrections institutions, now, place their inmates into the yard to divide daily garbages to renewable resources.
Korean Justice ministry has made fortunes to build more corrections institutions to gain more renewable resources from daily garbages.
Korean prosecutors don't ask a grace period at court any more and the court doesn't sentence a grace period any more.
There are full of hopes at prisons where the national pensions cover every inmates and they pay premiums form their works. done. 2021. 11. 18. Dr. Alex.
